Nice firmness. I have tennis balls and a beginner's cricket ball, but when my friend suggested these and I decided to try - so happy. The surface softness/material and the ball firmness is a perfect combination. I carry one always on my flights and work on my back when watching movies. Also the bag they come in helps for the double ball things - around spine or TFL
