I'm impressed with the weight and quality. I have used the DD 3.5 tarp for years as I like to pitch a forester tent environment permitting. It's been a faithful piece of kit and still in good order but it's large and heavy. But I'm not getting any younger or fitter so decided to lighten up my load out. Obviously I was expecting this tarp to be superlight, but when it arrived I was still pleasantly surprised at the noticeable weight difference and compactness. Only thing worth mentioning is when you first unpack it, it's stuck together for some reason. I guess it must be the coatings and packing process. It's a little disconcerting unpacking for the first time as you think you are going to rip it. Just take you time. I'm looking forward to getting out and testing it, and deciding what other goodies to pack now I've got some extra space. Highly recommended.

Writing this review in the rain and wind on the top of kinder scout. Dry and warm after a few minutes setting this up. I bought some extra pegs and different guy ropes (not great tying knots yet). 10 out of 10 for lightweight and small when packed. Could fit four or five people in here quite easily. Just ordered the xl magic carpet to go with it. Roll on winter.

This tarp is ideal as an emergency shelter for day hikes if the weather suddenly changes. It’s lightweight and packs down really small.

Great lightweight tarp from DD. Yes when new it’s a bit stuck together, but once used a couple of time that soon vanishes. Keeps me dry whilst camping and holds up well to moorland wind, no damage yet after around 10 uses as shelter for, hammock and tents. Yes there’s lighter options but I feel this is a good compromise between weight and durability

Great bit of kit but not 460grams more like 510g on my scales then add guylines and pegs Never the less still light and definitely a brilliant strong reliable tarp 👌

Great service from the seller. I was surprised how quickly it arrived. Less than 24 hours. The tarp itself is really light and is a strong, reliable shelter. Get some extra pegs and cordage though. I wish DD included six pegs instead of four. All in all, fantastic item!

Arrived well packaged and very quickly. This is the second DD tarp I’ve bought and it packs to about half the size and weight of the first, a standard 3x3m in Coyote Brown. No issues with the Superlight whatsoever - it’s an excellent piece of kit, as is all the DD gear. If the price is ok with you, I’m sure you’ll be pleased with it. The material, construction, stitching and tie-downs etc. are all first class and built to be used in the real world and take realistic use. The inclusion of 4 ultra light weight pegs is a nice touch.

Tarp incroyable ! Après des dizaines de nuit passée en dessous dans différentes configurations, je ne peux que en dire du bien, il est aussi leger qu'un poncho et les finitions sont vraiment top ! Je possède le modèle non ultralight aussi qui sert plus pour le bushcraft mais il pèse presques deux fois plus lourd.

Best available tarp tent product, due to size and symmetry, pattern and durability of tryouts, ease of folding, packed weight as well as volume and cost. A great advance for ultralight backpacking, good for 3 seasons, and for Southern California, for winter use when paired with a bivy sack.

In effetti per essere leggero è molto leggero. E se devo aggiungere qualcosa, anche resistente allo stesso tempo. Dopo 2 anni di utilizzo anche in ambiente montano invernale posso dire di averlo strapazzato. Ha resistito anche a venti molto forti (85 km/h di raffiche) andando anche oltre le mie previsioni. Difficilmente si poteva fare di meglio con queste caratteristiche.

Dieses Tarp ist wirklich sehr leicht und hat ein kleines Packmaß. Das Tuch ist ein bisschen elastisch und lässt sich in der Praxis dadurch sehr schön faltenfrei spannen. Alle Nähte sind getaped und somit wasserdicht. Alle Laschen sind robust verstärkt und somit sehr belastbar. Mit seinen 3x3 Meter etwas knapp um eine Hängematte in Gänze vor Regen zu schützen. Die Enden der Hängematte werden etwas feucht, was aber noch im akzeptablen Bereich ist. Für den Regen-Schutz einer Hängematte wären 4x3 oder 5x3 Meter besser. Die mitgelieferten 4 Heringe sind klein und edel aber längst nicht ausreichend um das Tarp robust abzuspannen. Meine Empfehlung ist zusätzlich min. 10 Zelt-Heringe 18 bis 25 cm lang mitnehmen. Zum Abspannen zusätzlich min. 6 Stück Leine 2mm, 4 Meter lang (z.B. Schnurhaus.de 2mm PES Reepschnur neongelb mit Reflektionsstreifen) Als First-Leine eine dehnungsarme Dyneema-Leine 8 bis 12m lang mit 4mm Durchmesser, ummantelt (Liros Regatta 2000) Alles in allem ein tolles leichtes Tarp mit kleinem Packmaß
