Sturdy and dependable
I bought mine in January last year and it has seen a lot of use. It is very sturdy and simply does what ever job I put to it; I mainly bought it to grind new lathe tools from blanks of tool steel more accurately than a normal grinder and without the concern of heat build up affecting the hardness of the tips. I have also used it to restore and sharpen many knives and a few chisels, which when finished on the leather honing wheel are truly razor sharp. I had not used one of these before owning one and initially approached grinding on it in the same way I used a standard grinder, this was too heavy handed and resulted in some minor damage to the stone in the form of nicks and grooves to the surface. These were very easily dressed out and the surface restored with a dressing tool. Since then I have been a lot lighter on the pressure, letting the stone do the work, and get consistently good results from it. So far the only fault I've had was my initial operation of it so I give myself 3.5 stars but the machine gets the full 5.

Needs work
Could be better. The stone is not dressed and requires truing to be effective. Otherwise it is not bad

The jury's out!
Been thinking about getting a whetstone grinder for years. This one was at a price point that made me finally get one. I'm going to update this if I learn how to put a good edge on a tool but so far I'm failing. By hand I can get chisels and plane blades razor sharp with this... meh! I was really hoping for better results but its early days and I haven't tired to sharpen any really good tool steel on this machine. The one inch chisel I use for hacking was worse after half an hour sharpening on the Triton TWSS10 than when I started. An hour later after regrinding the bevel several times and lots of honing it was no better. So far the good point and it may be the only good point is this tool is very good, quick and accurate at putting a primary bevel on a tool ready for hand sharpening. The side of the whetstone is also very good for flattening the back of chisels. Some points on the product as delivered. The packaging is good, mine was well beaten up on arrival but the contents were OK. Download the manual as the printed version has print so small that I doubt many have eyesight good enough to read it. If you are only regrinding plane blades and chisels everything you need is in the box. Anything else and you'll have to put your hand in your pocket again to get a suitable jig. I wanted to regrind a couple of planer blades and as far as I can see Triton don't have a jig for any blades that are shorter than about 100mm. Meaning its not any use on planer blades or spoke shave blades. I've ordered a few of the jigs so I'll update if I get any success.

well built, smooth, and quiet
does exactly, what it says. And does it really, really well. 10min to unpack it and its ready to go. Gave it the worst case , high cobalt tool steel. 15 min to do the job, that would have otherwise, taken me hours. 1 1/4 " chisel that was only fit for the scrappy. Saved in 20 min. I like this - a lot. only minor gripe - the leather honing wheel, is a bit lumpy, but that should sort itself out, or I could dress it.

Its good value for the money.👌 😌 👏 👍
I was a bit sceptical about spending my money on this sharpener after reading some of the reviews, but I am over the moon with this sharpening tool, I am new to woodworking properly and for the first time I have razor sharp chisels and plane blades, if you read the instructions and take your time setting up the jigs its easy to use and does a fantastic job, I'm glad I spent £200 and I recommend to anyone who has a load of chipped and blunt chisels to perches one themselves.

Not Accurate at All
The jig supplied with the machine does not fit true to the face of the grinding wheel, I'm ending up with the ends of my chisels out of square, the jig is useless. The two plastic bushes were initially very tight making it difficult to run the blades across the face of the stone. This is now easier and seems to indicate wear through being worked across the bar, will this get worse over time making the plastic bushes useless.? For £200 I would have expected better accuracy than I'm achieving. In hindsight I could have saved a lot of money by getting bench whetstones. Other than the jig and its supporting arm the grind stone is not true, you can feel the stone undulating as it spins over the piece being sharpened. Its of solid construction but that's where it ends. For me to continue using it I will have to adapt skills to use it by hand.

Eccellente. Niente da invidiare alle marche più blasonata. Affila benissimo.
