Pentel 0.7 mm Graphgear 500 Mechanical Pencil, PG517-C

Good quality and sturdy item, just the bottom layer of the pencil is metal but the rest is made by plastic but it's enoguh for having a clear and strong writing for all purposes. Only question is left why it was necessary to write the HB o nthe body of the pencil while it must support all the lead types?

Took a star off for only two reasons. From the picture I thought the whole body was metal but it's mostly plastic apart from the grip and the internal pieces. The other reason is because the way it is constructed it's hard to use up all of the lead. You usually end up with around 1.5cm left over that you can't really use. Other than that it has good weight distribution and seems to be quite long lasting. ( The end that displays the type of lead is good for fidgeting if that's something you're interested in because it makes a clicking noise when you twist it) (original rating 4 stars) Update: I have now been using this as my main mechanical pencil for 2 years. It's a brilliant pencil. The plastic body causes the majority of the weight to be in the grip making it very comfortable to use for long periods. The previously mentioned problem with the left over lead is easily remedied by just using multiple pieces of lead to keep it going. The only issue I've faced is its fairly easy to accidentally bend the tip of the pencil, causing the lead to continually break when trying to eject more. This was easily fixed though using some pliers and a fine needle to ensure the tip stays cylindrical.

Good mechanical pencil, my only problem is that it's a little light on the back and heavy on the front so the balance is off. Definitely worth the money though, i use it for drawing and writing, both are good. It feels good apart from the thin plastic sleeve. Writing is good and functional is as intended. Also it's lasted longer then my graphgear 1000 0.3

This pental pencil all rounder Great pencil well balanced and great for all day drawing very fine lines not heavy and cumbersome like other pencils where you get fatigue in your fingers do sketches all day beautiful pencil very high precision instrument can,t do without one the best so I have purchased so far

I brought this pencil as a friend of mine at uni had one and I used it once and it was amazing. I’m an illustration student and this pencil is fantastic! It sits comfortably in my hand and it’s very light which is good when I’m drawing for hours. The rubber is hidden inside the top so it doesn’t get dirty inside your pencil case. You can store the spare lead inside and it will replace it for you so you don’t rlly have to do anything. Seriously I love it. It’s weird to talk about a pencil like this but damn.

If I wanted second-hand, I'd be on Ebay. When the pen arrived, it looked like an Amazon warehouse operative had been using it for a week. The nib was bent, there was a dirty fingerprint on the machined grip and there was half a lead still inside the pencil. The Pentel pen itself felt cheap and badly balanced as the grip is metal and the rest is plastic, so I doubt I would have enjoyed using it - will stick with rOtring in future.

Pomijając że ołówek przybył otarty, co jednak rzuca się w oczy. To jestem z niego zadowolony. Mówi się że jeśli ma się talent nie ważne czym się rysuje, to dzięki temu ołówkowi muszę przyznać że sam nie mając talentu widzę że moje rysunki są znacznie lepsze.

This is pretty versatile and I like the heaviness of it in your hand. It's great that you can change the indicator to show what type of lead is in the pencil.

It’s really good. It’s comfortable in my hands. It’s really good at writing it feels like. It’s smooth with the led. The hb led is nice to. It also looks clean has good design and I like it a lot. It’s also good for your money and performs well.
