I make a lot of bread for my family. I have found adding Diastatic Malt to my bread makes for a beautifully risen loaf of sourdough bread! If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend it to anyone who is seeking the best tasting bread you make from scratch. Try it. I think you will like the results.

I use this in several baked goods but it is especially nice for helping the outside of a handmade croissant nice and crunchy, as it should be! And it only takes a couple of grams for a 10-Croissant recipe. Good stuff.

I use this to add flavor to my French bread. The product is top quality.

This product has made baking bread so much better. The rise is far better.

I come from a long line of awesome home cooks, and the ability and skill to make fluffy dinner rolls is highly prized. I got this after researching ways to create loftier bakes. I used it once to bake bread, it's a good product, but I believe that I need to experiment more with the ratios of malt/water/flour. The crust was nice and it had a nice flavor but not quite the rich, yeastiness that all of my sources were gushing about. It's also kept in the fridge. It's a LOT of yeast powder, and you don't need a lot for your recipes so I'm hoping it will last. FANTASTIC value and a price that can't be beat if you are baking bread every week or so. We love homemade bread but we don't eat TONS of it. Try it out!
