This product works very well and keeps the razor head in tip top condition.

There's no doubting the value for money, as the branded cartridges are dear. However, the cartridges have a high alcohol content and evaporate, leaving the shaver dry - this product appears to have a high water content and leaves the shaver dripping wet. I suspect it doesn't lubricate as well as the cartridge, if at all, so I'm wondering if it's good value in the long term..

The liquid worked well in my Quick Cleaner for the Philips 5000 Razor

I have been using this for a few months now and this is not a substitute for the normal alcohol-based cleaner. This is mainly water which give the following problems:1. In the Braun cleaner, filling the cartridge to the top level will cause the fluid to spill. Half-filling the cartridge will prevent this.2. Because the fluid is water rather than alcohol, the shaver does not dry out between shaves so you have to shave with a damp shaver. (It take at least 48 hours for the shaver to dry).3. If you leave the fluid a long time in the cleaning station (e.g. 1 month), it develops a musty smell.4. The fluid is not as effective at cleaning as the normal alcohol-based fluid, so you will have to manually clean the shaver from time to time.I will be disposing of this and returning to the normal alcohol-based fluid. A fraction of the cost of buying new cleaning cartridges but works a treat.

Much cheaper than buying pods for philips electric shaver .I pour the product into a empty pod does the same job but not so expensive !

The savings by refilling rather than buying new cartridges is amazing. This works just as well as the original cartridges with one exception, it takes a lot longer to dry after cleaning. I assume this is because it has a lower alcohol content and its water base takes longer to evaporate after cleaning.

Used already several times to clean my shaver with the cleaning system. Well, it is not like the original. The cleaning process is not reaching the same level as with the original one: The inner trimmer remains wet (even after 2-3 days), and it is not cleaned completely (hair debris remains) also the smell is less powerful. Bottom line, I will go back to the original one even before finishing the 5L liquid for better results. BTW, look for Braun's special offers for their accessories...they sometimes offer reduced prices and larger packaging.
