The Right Move (Windy City Series Book 2) : Tomforde, Liz: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Pulled at my Heart Strings!! Loved, loved, loved! - 4.75-5⭐️ This book took my heart, shattered it, healed It and embedded it back in my chest! Sport Romance is my new fav obsession! First I loved ice hockey, now I also love basketball. God help me by the time the series has finished! This book made me giggle and it made me cry (happy tears). The emotions I felt reading this book was on a whole new level. I got truly lost in this book and could view it in my mind and forget where I was (in real life)! I adored the story line of this book and the topics brought up that occur in real life. I really praise Liz for adding in those topics and showing a true reality of good and/or bad of what it can cause and bring to the table for some people and families. I thought Liz sold it really well and again that made me emotional. This book really pulled at my heart strings. This book is based on Ryan (who is Stevie’s twin who we’re introduced to in the first book) and Indy who is Stevie’s best friend (again introduced in first book). Indy essential ends up moving in with Ryan to save up some extra money for herself soon after a breakup. However, Ryan doesn’t want Indy moving into his living space but only agrees as Stevie and Indy are friends and he would do anything for his twin! Spoilers Below ** ——————————————————————————— OMFG is Ryan a gift from God? He is also who I’d describe as a wagon wheel - soft on the inside, hard on the out. I’m sorry, but I think he has set the bar for any boyfriend. Fictional or non fictional. Learning sign language did me over, I cried every time. The way Liz wrote this book I could really connect with his feelings and desire to communicate with Indy’s family. My heart was melting so bad! The way her paid for fertility treatment and a house. I did guess those from the start, he learning sign language to ask Indy’s dad permission on marriage and helping in some way shape or form with Indy and having a child and paying for fertility treatments. Even though I guessed it, I was so happy my guesses were confirmed and incorporated within the book! We truly did see Ryan’s thoughtful side and how he still took care of Indy even where they had fallen out and she was with Rio… ah my heart cannot cope!!! Indy on the other hand, I blooming love her character. I really felt for her and I can truly relate and feel what she feels in the aspect of caring for others and putting others first. I’m so so SOOO glad they got their happy ending!! The praise I'd heard beforehand was absolutely warranted; it lived up to every bit of hype surrounding it. While Ryan Shay undoubtedly earns his place as the ultimate book boyfriend, let's not overlook Indy's charm. She's incredibly likable, sweet, kind, and an exceptional friend. Watching her journey and seeing her deserve the royal treatment from someone like Ryan was truly satisfying. This book ticked off every box on my wish list. It completely engulfed me, delivering brilliant tropes, superb writing, and an overall outstanding reading experience. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of their next must-read.

Oh, boy! Liz Tomforde delivered!!! This one is even better than Mile High. I've always had trouble picking out a heroine I can imagine I see myself in, but Indy is the first one... nurturing, emotional, romantic, loving romance books & sacrificing herself for her loved ones... & RYAN! Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, words would fail to describe how much I love his flawed perfection. What a ride! I have never clicked pre-order as fast as I did for the next one 🩷

4.75⭐️ ✨Best Friend's Brother ✨Sister's Best Friend ✨Forced Proximity ✨Roommates ✨Fake Dating ✨Mental Health Rep ✨Basketball Player x Flight Attendant ✨“Sometimes the quietest love is the loudest.“✨ The Right Move is the second book in the Windy City series and it follows Ryan Shay and Indigo Ivers. Indigo moves into Ryan‘s place at his sister’s, Stevie‘s, insistence and disrupts his organised and lonely life with her colours and her mess. While they start out being not quite fond of each other they quickly find themselves in a fake relationship that brings them closer and closer together. After some time the question arises if the relationship is really as fake as they pretend it to be. And then there’s the point of the living arrangement only being temporary, aren’t they? ✨I absolutely adored this book, I loved it just as much as the first one and I can’t wait for the next. I love how Liz keeps including and representing different mental health struggles. How in this one, while for Ryan it was partially similar to Evan‘s struggles, he had a much harder time. Trying to always be the perfect man, not giving anything to make negative headlines about him, and now having the added stress of trying to be a good captain to the team. ✨I adored Indy‘s character, her being quite relatable for a lot of us book girlies. It was so funny how she made a “How to be a book boyfriend” bucket list for Ryan and how she used romance novels to escape reality. I also loved how she got Ryan back to feeling more and how she slowly brought him back to life while also struggling with her own issues like infertility, being cheated on, and being alone for the first time in 6 years. ✨Ryan was such a sweetheart, adapting his love language to whatever Indy needed, whether that were small things, like making her a coffee every morning, taking care of her when she was sick, or building her a new bookshelf and learning how to take care of her plants. I also loved how he made her a bucket list so that she could learn to be alone and not feel bad about herself and her situation. How he paid for her fertility treatment and how he bought them a house when they hadn’t even officially made their relationship real. I also adored his relationship with Stevie and how he later saw Evan as a brother. ✨"You can't stop being who you are because someone else thinks it's too much, Ind. He can go find less."✨

This book represents a romance book from beginning to end, with evolving characters and a great timeline. The plot follows Ryan Shay, captain of the Chicago Devils basketball team, and Indy Ivers, a flight attendant and best friend of Ryan’s sister. After a painful breakup, Indy temporarily moves into Ryan’s apartment, which triggers a series of events including a faked relationship to improve Ryan’s public image and helping Indy cope with a wedding where her cheating ex-boyfriend will be. The dynamic between Ryan and Indy is the heart of the novel. Ryan, initially reserved, structured and square, is confronted by the chaos, warmth and color that Indy brings to his life. As they share space and experiences, both characters experience significant personal growth, blurring the lines between pretend relationship and genuine feelings. This book is, without a doubt, one of my favorite comfort books. It gives me peace every time I read it. Ryan and Indy’s story is simply adorable and both characters are so tender, real, and likable that it’s impossible not to become attached to them. Their connection is pure magic. What I love most is how Liz Tomforde builds the relationship bit by bit, with moments full of affection, chemistry and tenderness. From iced coffees to late night conversations as roomies, EVERYTHING is perfect. I love how she, fresh out of a long relationship, finds in Ryan a partner who respects her, listens to her and values her. Plus, it has some of my favorite tropes and is full of scenes that make you grin like a fool. I really enjoyed this book a lot. ✨ Fake dating ✨ Forced proximity ✨ Grumpy x sunshine ✨ Sports romance ✨ Best friend’s brother ✨ Roommates
