Sebastião Salgado: Africa : Couto, Mia, Salgado, Lélia Wanick, Salgado, Sebastião: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Totally amazing - The most profound photographs I have ever seen . This book has blown my mind . The impact these images have is incredible. If you love b/W photography and admire Africa this is a must have book . Superb production. Review: Beautiful work excellently presented - I know one of the oil well firefighters very well (we think that's him on the cover) so I bought a couple of copies one for me and one for him. He absolutely loved it and it brought back many memories for him. He is getting on now and this was the first book he had read for a while, there is some text as well as the images, and it really moved him. The images are truly other-worldly and give a great sense of what it was like to be there with images of crew covered in oil and the surrounding environment as well as the terrible fires and capping efforts. A great book for anyone's photo book collection.

Excellent and good value at Amazon
Excellent and good value at Amazon. Something you can come back to for years to come. You just open the album anywhere and there's something to make you think for the rest of the day, or even change your life for the better., like making you realize the hardship that comes into the production of tea, something we take for granted. The photographs are arranged on separate pages and there is no issue of them being split between two adjacent pages (a problem raised by reviewers of some other albums with photographs by the same artist).. I only wish the album included some other photos shown in The Salt of the Earth, a documentary on the life of Sebastiao Salgado, I miss some of them...

Technically great and thought provoking.
Terrific record of Africa in conflict. Some really brilliant imagery. The book is printed very well and it's a great landscape format which means none of the pictures are printed across the centre fold between pages. If you like collections of photographs this is a great one to add to the collection. Only small dislike is the fact the text is in 3 languages, so if there are 3 or 4 pages of introduction or dialogue in one language, there are another 6 or 8 pages repeated in the other 2 languages. But there is not too much of that so it's not a problem.

Beautiful book, amazing pictures
Very amazing book with outstanding pictures. I bought this as a christmas present to my sister, and I was pleased with the delivery. It arrived in less than 7 days with not a scratch on it (this is quite a heavy book , about 2-3 kilos so I was well surprised to see it was well packed and in good condition).
