I followed the directions for manual set-up and was delighted to find that everything went as directed. Installing the printer heads was a little fiddly but they went in after some gentle trial and error. After filling the ink reservoirs, I noticed the warning light flashing. I restarted the printer, hoping that things would sort themselves out, but the light kept flashing. It turned out that this was the printer warning of a print head problem. Print head installation was next on the list of directions, and once they were in place everything was fine. So far, all the pages I've printed have been of great quality and with no hiccups in the printing process. I was relieved to find that you could set up the printer without using the HP app or having to create an account. The printer also connects to computers with a traditional USB A to B lead, if you don't want to go down the wireless route. Using the printer with Linux proved to be straightforward and even a pleasant experience, which is not always the case. I'll be interested to see how things are going in a year or two, but so far I'm very happy with the purchase!

Good value. Relatively easy to set up. Excellent print quality. Very good wireless connectivity. With this ink capacity will last for ages making it very cheap to maintain. Compact in size. Easy to use. The only downside is speed of printing. It is slow but suits my needs as I only do one or two pages at a time.

I have decided to write review as i have seen a lot of negative reviews mostly regarding the set up, noise etc. First of all the set up is easy with very simple instructions. You fill the ink tanks , its clean and easy - tip : push the ink bottle hard enough till loud popping noise. installing printer heads- again its easy enough just make sure the blue case where you are inserting them is exactly in the middle , as it does move, that way the printer heads click in easily. Regarding the noise : in my opinion this printer is not noisy, its average printing noise you would expect. The 3 year supply of ink - the ink bottles which come with the printer meant to last for 3 years printing , dont expect extra bottles. Connecting to wifi is easy through app. Little tip : if it goes wrong and you need to start again : on the printer , press the wifi button and clear button together for 5 seconds it resets the printer to setting up mode again . I would say this is a very good printer for domestic use and small office/ small business . It does great good job for the price paid .

I've used HP printers all my life and my last one (an HP Envy) worked perfectly for about 7 years. When it came time to replace for a newer model I selected this as I liked the economy of the smart tank ink. Adding the ink is clean and simple but that is where any positive comments end. This printer is useless - it continually drops off the network and just refuses to respond to anything sent to it (the web interface also does not respond) until powered down/up again. Printing is sketchy - sometimes it would just print the top of the first page and then stop - other times it just spuriously zips a piece of paper through it with some blobs of ink on it - other times it would weirdly go crazily slow - so each page was taking about 2-3 minutes to print. It's like the software goes haywire on it! Every print job is preceded by a cacophony of motor noises and wheels which sometimes bursts into print action, other times just stops and the power light starts flashing and no more. When it initially was installed, it would make an annoying low frequency beeping noise for no reason - driving me mad. A firmware update did stop this but sadly didn't make the printer any more reliable. Once it gets stuck with the power light flashing, nothing works and it's hard reboot time again! It rarely prints from Apple devices, and from Windows it is a bit better but sometimes even locks up my PC! Native Apple AirPrint is terrible - the HP Smart App is more reliable but the content is repurposed by the app, losing content, changing around sizes of images and pagination, so you lose wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) - a feature of any decent printer since about 1995! I'd already raised these issues with HP Support who arranged a swap-over for a whole new printer - but the new one is just as bad. I've spent all day today trying to speak to HP Support (I just want a refund now) but 8 hours later they've just told me they have a 'system upgrade' going on so cannot help me today! Just awful - avoid! Update: other people have also mentioned this but the HP Support is disgustingly bad. You send a message and sometimes it is hours before you get a reply - but if they ask anything and you don't respond, they close the case! Also, if it is approaching end of their shift, they just say you will need to start a new conversation the next day! In the end I got so annoyed, I just contacted Amazon and said I needed to return the printer as not fit for purpose. Amazon to the rescue again... and NEVER will I buy HP again.

printer is so easy to set up using the HP printer software ,connection via Wi fi is flawless, print quali8ty is superb even comes with 3 years supply of ink i love how easy it is to fill the ink tanks i am glad i bought this excellent quality printer.

Having had a money pit of a printer before this, the Epson 2950, (which was soul destroying), this one is an absolute dream, finally able to print without having to worry about the printer using all the ink in self-cleaning, poor print quality, and throwing money down the drain to buy endless cartridges that lasted less than the time it took to install them. Really an absolute dream after all of the printers I've ever owned, great print quality, great wifi, can't praise it enough!

This printer failed on the 1st day. After over a month of waiting for spares from HP, I was getting frustrated. The spares eventually arrived and it still did not work. I was told that you would refund me in full and I could do what I liked with the printer. I spoke to HP to see if it could be repaired and they said send it back to Amazon and we will honour rhe Amazon exchange. I sent it via EVRI to Amazon Returns, Dunfermline, Fife a couple of weeks ago. What is happening, please?

First Smart Tank Printer - everything seems fine

Imprimante HP Smart Tank 5105 achetée 169 EUR et reçue ce matin 27/08/2024 dans les temps annoncés, pour usages personnels et professionnels (télétravail), en remplacement d'une vieille Canon Pixma. Fonctionne pour l'instant très bien (comptez sur moi pour corriger ma note et mon commentaires si des problèmes apparaissent !). Emballage effectivement transparent (on voit ce que vous recevez...) mais très soigneux notamment pour déballer les différentes composantes (j'ai particulièrement apprécié le sac plastique à tirer pour sortir l'engin de ses polystyrènes sans tout massacrer ou faire tomber la chose sur le carrelage...). Curieusement, deux cordons l'alimentation sont fournis (pour prises européennes et prises américaines...) mais pas de cordon pour une éventuelle impression filaire (mais c'était annoncé, donc pas d'arnaque ici...). J'ai procédé à la mise en route en suivant les instructions du livret fourni (très bien fait et clair, en diverses langues dont le français) et terminé comme indiqué avec l'application HP Smart pour la connexion en wifi (l'ouverture d'un compte HP n'est pas imposé même si je l'ai fait, notamment pour sécuriser la garantie, mettre aussi et peut-être plus facilement à jour le micro-logiciel de l'imprimante, dernière opération qui s'est aussi très bien passée). Une fois l'imprimante connectée à mon réseau wifi via l'appli HP Smart installée sur mon PC (Windows 11), cette dernière est reconnue par les autres appareils connectés au wifi (iPhone, iPad...), et c'est magique ensuite d'imprimer sans fils de partout ! Je ne trouve pas l'impression bruyante pour une jet d'encre, et si le modèle n'est effectivement pas ultra rapide pour les impressions ou numérisations, ce n'est pas non plus lent et reste totalement dans la norme de ce que je connais, tout comme la qualité des impressions et des numérisations. L'encre se met très simplement et proprement dans les 4 réservoirs (via un judicieux système...) et permettra de réduire considérablement les monstrueux coûts financiers et écologiques des systèmes à cartouches : c'est ce qui motivé mon achat (plutôt qu'une imprimante à 50 EUR dont le prix en réalité explose avec les consommables), en plus du design sobre et élégant de cette HP Smart Tank 5105 par ailleurs légère en poids. Bref, un bel objet industriel qui permet d'imprimer ou numériser à la maison, en qualité, à bas coût et sans fil, des documents, rapports ou photos : c'est formidable non ? (un progrès technologique dont beaucoup ne se rendent même plus compte...). Seul reproche pour l'instant : un bac d'alimentation en feuilles (à l'arrière) trop petit à mon goût (on ne peut assurément pas mettre une rame de papier entière, mais plutôt un dixième...).

Avevo già intenzione di approcciarmi ad una stampante "tank" invece delle classiche con le cartucce per via del loro costo elevato, HP Smart Tank 5105 è stata l'occasione perfetta. Dentro la scatola ci trovi i flaconi di inchiostro iniziali, belli grossi. La procedura di riempimento dei serbatoi è incredibilmente pulita e senza sprechi, grazie al sistema a bottoncino. Una nota curiosa che ho apprezzato: una volta riempiti tutti i serbatoi, il flacone del nero ti avanza di una buona metà, pronto per la prossima ricarica, mentre per i colori quelli forniti finiscono precisi per riempire il serbatoio. Già questo è un ottimo punto di partenza. Il vero "wow" arriva con la configurazione. Accendi, e invece di armeggiare con manuali illeggibili e CD obsoleti (chi li ha più, i lettori CD?), prendi in mano lo smartphone. In pochi minuti, tramite l’app di HP , è atta. La connessione alla rete Wi-Fi di casa è stata immediata. L’app merita una menzione speciale: non è solo un crudo strumento di stampa, ma una vera guida. Ti accompagna passo passo nel setup iniziale con tutorial chiari, addirittura con GIF animate che mostrano esattamente cosa fare fase dopo fase. Impossibile sbagliare, perfetta per chi non è un tecnico. Una volta partito, si esegue subito la stampa di prova per l'allineamento delle testine e il test dello scanner. Le stampe testuali sono nitide e rapide, ma è sulle foto che ho fatto la prova del nove. Stampare le immagini dallo smartphone è un gioco da ragazzi direttamente dall’app. I colori sono ben definiti, vivaci, e la resa su carta è davvero più che dignitosa per un uso domestico o per l’ufficio casalingo. La velocità è più che soddisfacente per le mie esigenze. Esteticamente, non guasta: ha una linea moderna, compatta e molto elegante, che non stona. In sintesi, la HP Smart Tank 5105 è quel che cercavo in termini di praticità e semplicità. Per il lavoro che svolgo odio troppo perdere tempo in configurazioni o problematiche di connessione ecc... oggi giorno con i ritmi della vita che sono sempre più dinamici servono soluzioni plug and play, ed è questo quello che per me più conta. Dall'unboxing alla prima stampa in meno di mezzora.

Me encata, no tengo problema para imprimir cartulinas de hasta 300gr. Era lo que buscaba y despues de tanto investigar hice una buena elección. No gasta casi nada las tintas es mas económica que las smart tack 7306, yo imprimo mucho y aún no han bajado los niveles de tinta. La súper recominedo por rendimiento y calidad de impresión, también tiene la función de escanner y fotocopias. El papel normal lo imprime súper rápido, dependiendo del tipo de papel, color y calidad puede tardar un poco mas pero no me hace problema.
