I originally bought this because the brand I bought before raised its price, and I thought this one would have better value. After trying it though, I would rather spend the few extra dollars for a significantly better product. These seem to be vacuum sealed upon arrival, but most of the bags I got had air in them. Whether they were poorly sealed or damaged in transit, I don’t know, but I do know that the bags that had no vacuum were much more broken. The bags are half unusable tapioca powder and half misshapen tapioca pearls. If you get any powder into the pot/kettle, you would end up cooking a gelatin-like syrup which does not make for an enjoyable drinking experience. The taste is fine, not sweet (which I like being able to adjust during preparation) but the texture is terrible. Its also burns easily (like, within 5min), likely due to the density’s of this syrup-mush. So not only am I getting less boba, but bad, clumpy, burnt-tasting boba. I wouldn’t get it again, and to keep using it I have to sift out all the usable boba, which only makes this a pain to use. I don’t recommend it at all.

I tried in different ways, 1) Add the Boba in warm/hot water and spin gently. The boba turns to sticky stuff in the pot. 2) Add the boba in boiling water and let the water keep boiling without stirring the boba. Cook for ~20 min and then let it incubate in the hot water for 20-30 minutes. It works! It takes time to cook but it can work as good as boba in the stores.

I was afraid to put this in my Boba tea, because I think it would block my intestines! I followed the directions and rinsed it well, but it was just sticky globs of goop.

First, the pearls are crumbling. Obviously, they can't be used to make bubble tea. Second, the directions have too many steps. Third, you have to stand at your stove for 30 mins to stir the pearls "every few minutes." Sure, I will. Not! Fourth, you have to eat all of them within 5 hours.

2 of the bags are not fully vacuum sealed and have moisture inside the bags. There was an insert which included an email address to contact with any issues. I emailed the company, but never heard back from them. Waste of my money.
