It's not perfect but it's still great fun.
This is a seriously addictive game - if you can live with the flaws.I bought this game after watching some of the original beta videos on YouTube. I have been playing for a few months on and off and am really enjoying the survival/ base building elements of the game.I would advise new players to start by playing in the 'Creative Mode' as this gives you access to all of the goodies you need to survive from the off. You can practice building bases, exploring and fending off the Zombies then start a real survival mode and see how long you last when you have to scavenge everything! You can also customise the difficulty setting - the spawn rate of zombies, whether they can run or not, the length of sunlight hours, how many hours between supply drops etc. which allows new players to start on easy and build the game up as their skill level increases. The online co-op is also really good. I regularly play online with a couple of friends and find the co-op element of scavenging and sharing resources really great. With a few friends working together, you can very quickly build a secure base to scavenge from and start advancing your skills and unlocking the advanced crafting and items.Ok the bad bits...Firstly the visuals won't be for everyone. This is not a polished AAA game such as COD or Uncharted 4. It's done in Teltale's signature style which is quite cartoony/ hand drawn.Secondly - despite patches and updates, it can still be quite buggy. I've walked into parts of a map only for it to clip out to grey then re render with loads of Zombies around. The game can also lag when you are under attack from the zombie horde in your base as there is a lot to render on screen. This isn't game breaking by any means but can be annoying.Overall I really like playing 7 Days to Die. Its a game you can lose yourself in for a few hours making a complex and robust base or you can just play for a quick 30 mins and go scavenging for essential supplies.

The glitches don't really affect the gameplay very much and although the graphics aren't the best, they are sufficient for this
Some reviews are being overly harsh. The game is early access and patches are on the way. The glitches don't really affect the gameplay very much and although the graphics aren't the best, they are sufficient for this type of game. The survival side of it is very realistic and the zombies are dangerous so it is a difficult game. However if you buy this game that is what you should expect because surviving is a challenge. I have drunk dirty water and got dysentery, died of heatstroke, broken my leg and been killed by a bear to name a few things. The tutorials don't really show you much, it's about learning as you go so it does require some patience. But if you like survival games and Minecraft I would say this is definitely worth the price and it has a lot of opportunity to get better.

Practice and you will (probably) like it.
I'm told this is just like Minecraft in terms of concept.Be prepared to die of frustration while playing this game. Graphics that don't display correctly, long load times, multiplayer crashes and a user interface from hell are some of the reasons for not buying.BUT- incredibly addictive once you get to grips with the gameplay and now I'm playing a co-op with two friends (rather than PvP) I can't get enough of it.

Good fun, but a few problems
This game does not deserve to be hated as much as it seems to be. As an open world survival and crafting game, it is a lot of fun to play with friends. Probably not so much alone, I imagine, but it is a decent challenge and is quite deep with lots to discover. As people have said, the graphics and sound are not the best -- certainly not typical PS4 quality -- but really this doesn't take too much away from the addictive nature of the gameplay. There are a few issues with lag/frame rate and the menus are a bit fiddly, but hopefully these will improve in the future.Don't pay over the odds for this game, but if it's £20 to £25 and you think you like the look of it from trailers and the like, go for it. I'm having a fun time with it, and I don't usually like this kind of game.

it gets better with each update
7 Days to Die is a mixed bag. Initially released quickly and very bug-ridden, it gets better with each update. However, it is a very addictive game (like Minecraft) and you can easily lose 5+ hours playing this game.It works best as multiplayer (2 player offline. or with a lot more online) due to the fact that reinforcing your base becomes increasingly difficult to do on your own, the longer you survive. Playing on a private game means you can pick and choose who joins. Or you can be brave and allow anyone to join your game! All in all if you can look past a few minor bugs (similar to that of early Skyrim) then you wont be disappointed. An in depth crafting system, and great concept. At times you genuinely feel lost and alone in the world, and quickly begin to fear venturing outside at night.
