Good: I really like that this container is reusable. All you have to do is remove the label, which is a sticker that comes off easily. And you have a neat white food safe ,1 gallon bucket with a comfort grip and metal handle decently strong air tight seal. This is really notable as you can gain something from buying this that would technically cost you a couple of dollars in another context. The soy itself seems of good quality. I eat a lot of it , paying the roughly $35.00 cost. The bucket it comes in is a good pairing because it protects the powder from sunlight and doesn't add as much volume as some other products of food powder. The soy itself has an earthy flavor, which does mean kind of like dirt or clay if you don't like veggies, or healthy plant foods like macha if you do. The Powder doesn't mix easily in liquid but with enough stirring you can get a decently creamy mixture that is a also foamy. Soy protein is higher in protein digestibility vs pea protein so all I think the drawbacks are worth it. The problem is that I personally think you need some kind of tool to open this thing. Tin snips and pliers, vice grip and box cutters. At the very least you need a really strong grip. This is a big problem if you are impatient and without tools or resourcefulness.

I have never believed in a product as much as I believe in the Earthborn Elements Soy Protein Powder. Here is everything you need to know about this product, IMO: SAFETY: Should you be concerned about estrogen-like effects from isoflavins in soy? No. My understanding is that estrogen and estrogen-like compounds have positive effects on the male body when training for strength and muscle gain. According to Dr. Mike Israetel from RP Strength, who holds a PhD in Sports Physiology, estrogen is highly anabolic to muscle tissue especially when testosterone is also present, which is a good thing in males! QUALITY: Casein, Whey, and Egg are complete protein sources and 100% of these proteins consumed are absorbed. Soy protein is also a complete protein source and 99.8% of soy protein consumed is absorbed. Soy gets you all 9 essential amino acids and your body can effectively absorb all of it, the same as with casein, whey, or egg protein. NUTRITION: In addition to high protein content, this is a good source of iron (22% DV) with no fats or carbs and only 110 calories. However, it is fairly high in sodium (also 22% DV). TASTE: Neutral on its own, sort of like flour. At worst, bland but not awful at all. Delivers on being unflavored. EASE OF USE: Mixes really well with water or milk alone, and works well with other powdered foods & supplements, yogurt, cereal, smoothies, baking mixes, pancake batter, etc. The 30g serving is pretty filling and I like to drink it with a ton of water or milk and add 5g creatine, 16g powdered peanut butter, and 32g of chia seeds for lots of protein and fiber. VALUE: I did the math. Take my word for it that this is the most bang for your buck among all whey, casein, egg, soy, pea, and mycoprotein options on Amazon. This bucket IS the financial solution to supplementing your diet with high quality protein.

Soy powder is great. Tastes good and it dissolves fairly easily. BUT the bucket is nearly impossible to open. The removable plastic seal strip is so hard to remove that I need to use a knife and a pair of pliers to get it off the lid. Please do away with the bucket and I'll give it a five-star review. I had to buy a pair of locking vise grip pliers just to grab and remove the plastic seal ring. It shouldn't be that difficult to remove but it is.

Soy protein powder is my favorite of all the different types of powders out there for usage as protein supplements. The reason is that it tastes like nothing. Truly, no aftertaste or side-effects to the taste, which is great, since many other powders that don't have sugary additives will taste terrible, like pea protein powder or rice protein powder. It digests very well, no unpleasant gas related issues like there is with egg white protein powder. Cost seems reasonable, just slightly less than some of the cheaper whey protein powders out there, but those are usually full of sugary additives and other strange ingredients like sucralose that you should be avoiding. Plus whey protein powder is usually much higher in fat and cholesterol. Soy protein powder is very low in fat and cholesterol. I've read that soybeans are a complete protein, in which they have all 9 essential amino acids, making it a great choice as a protein powder. Oh, and it's vegan, which is cool too, unlike whey or egg white protein powder. This brand Earthborn is really good, I've gone through 2 buckets of it already and it's been wonderful. Goes down smooth, and all the benefits I mentioned above. The 25 grams of protein for only 110 calories is excellent, that's the best ratio I've ever seen for calories to protein. I have them on recurring order and will continue to buy them as long as I need.

Yes, the bucket is very hard to open. It seems like a good product and was happy to find plain soy protein isolate, but it has a weird chemical smell, which makes me worry it is contaminated. I am not sure if the chemical smell was actually the bucket, because it seems like when you smell the powder on its own, the chemical smell is not so strong. Either way, it concerns me enough that I likely won't purchase it again.
