WOODFORD RESERVE® BITTERS DRAM SET – FIVE PACK (10ML EACH)

This is a fantastic little collection of bitters at a great price. The barrel aging adds a light, oaky depth to these that sets them apart from other bitters brands. I do find that each flavor is more straight forward and less complex than some other brands, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just worth pointing out. The plus side to that is that these are much more versatile; I regularly add them to coffee, soda, and even sparkling water.Chocolate Bitters: Rich, deep mocha flavor. This is a delicious addition to espresso martinis, aged bourbons, and even just plain coffee. I would definitely buy a large bottle of this to keep on hand at all times.Orange Bitters: Bright and citrusy with oak barrel undertones. These are actually quite unique and not comparable to, say, Regan's. Regan's has complex herbal notes and the orange flavor tastes like concentrated essential oil from the peel. Woodford's puts a fresher orange flavor front and center and the barrel aging gives it extra depth. The bitterness in this comes more from the wood tannins.Spiced Cherry Bitters: Cherry Cola in a bottle. This flavor brings back nostalgia. The barrel aging and spice gives it that old fashioned cola taste while the cherry lifts it up with a sweet fruity note. This is one of the more complex ones and I'm a big fan of it.Sassafras & Sorghum Bitters: Tastes like old fashioned root beer. Rich, herbal, and lightly sweet. It's a very good but particular flavor. I enjoy it but haven't found as much use for this one.Aromatic Bitters: Heavy, spice notes and tannins. I get clove, a touch of anise, and big bold barrel flavors. You could almost call this "spiced bitters" rather than Aromatic because it's so assertive. Personally I prefer the more herbal nuance of Angostura and Peychauds, but some may appreciate the boldness of this.Overall this is a great addition to any bar or beverage collection. These are tasty and versatile!

This was the first time I bought really good bitters, rather than the standard ones on most grocery or liquor store shelves, and I will never go back to the cheap ones. What a huge difference! This 5-pack is a great way to explore the full range of truly good bitters. I like old fashioneds and manhattans, and each flavor in this set transformed those cocktails with new layers of flavor. Each was very different. The chocolate adds smoothness and a warm hint of dark chocolate. This may be my favorite, though it is hard to choose. The spiced cherry adds an overtone of rich, fresh dark cherries, with no sense of the artificial. The orange and the aromatic were a bit closer to standard bitters flavors, but kicked up a notch--the orange was somehow more orange. The only one I didn't care for was the sorghum and sassafras, which I had expected to add a note of dark molasses, but to my taste it just added bitterness. Having 5 flavors of bitters is a great way to add sophistication as well as variation to my favorite cocktails and those of my guests, and I am completely sold on these.

These were recommended by a bartender because not only are they great bitters but the dropper top prevents messy pouring and a dirty cap and bottle. I like the fact they are a variety pack. Made for a good stocking stuffer.

They're small but nice to try different flavors. Good gift idea!

Perfect for old fashions and at a great price!

Gave this to someone to use as it wasn't exactly what I was looking for

Got this for my wife and her love of old-fashioned, but I ended up getting pulled in to taste test them. Now I use them to spice up my own cocktails too. Just a few drops of the chocolate bitters in my oatmeal liqueur makes it taste just like a bowl of hot cocoa.

My title says it all … anyone who loves bourbon and subtle flavors would love this selection.
