Does exactly what it says on the box
I’m using this for my pond, and it’s great. The outputs are high wattage, so everything runs smoothly, and it does exactly what I need it to, no surprises. I like that you can remove the mainboard to feed the cables in, which is a lifesaver when they get a bit fenkikity despite being quite spacious inside. Solid, practical, and keeps my pond electrics safe and dry. Always consult an electrician if you’re unsure about wiring, safety first!

Well worth the money
Great bit of kit. There’s a screw on the panel which when removed the panel comes off making it easier to do the wiring- definitely do this. I also found it easier putting the earth in first as I’m right handed.

Good quality but fiddly.
Good quality components and manufacture with spare fuses supplied. But internal space for completing the wiring is limited. You have to get all wiring complete before it mounts on the wall, safety reasons I suppose, but means it's hanging in the air while you make the connections. Also you need plenty of slack in the cables as it has to slide up before coming off the bracket. Difficult to make it look neat and tidy. The button function is a bit woolly and sometimes it's tricky to turn things off or on, you have to get the angle of press just right. The red LEDs are much fainter than the green, and the green light the garden up as they are on all the time that there is power to the box. Would be neater if they timed out.

Overall an Excellent Choice
Received the item around 2pm and within an hour had installed it and got it working; the design is well thought out with the control board being able to be removed to aid cable fitting and the easy fit box mounting backing plate; it is true, however, that you need to allow a little slack cable to enable de-mounting and cable removal/installation. The only slight negative is that the construction of the board is a little flimsy around the LED light carrier where one of the securing screws was loose and would not tighten back, however I was able to easily repair this, and, even if I could not repair it, I doubt it would have impeded the normal operation of the unit. I note that previous reviewers criticised the fact it would not take an armoured cable, however it clearly states the accepted cable sizes both in the listing, box and in the instructions and is primarily due to having to be connected to an RCD and ideally plugged into such. I in fact plugged this unit into my existing twin RCD weatherproof socket, located near to my pond, and meant I could run 3 pond devices ( pump, heater & air pump), easily controlling them without the need to open the weatherproof enclosure, during maintenance etc, leaving one socket free for additional kit like a pond vac etc. Moving on to the other reported issue of buttons sticking, this is due to the necessarily tight fit to the outer casing of the rubberised buttons and dirt can catch the casing making the button stick and obviously a new unit will be stiff until worn in a little. This can be simply overcome by a small smear of silicone grease or vaseline to the button sides which gives just the right lubrication to enable reliable operation; in time dirt will build up so just wipe clean and re apply the silicone grease or vaseline and there you go! It is not a design floor but a periodic maintenance issue. In conclusion I feel this control box is overall an excellent choice for safely running multiple devices with the convenience of switching them on and off easily with clear LED indication lights signalling what is on or off and what has a power feed.

Good build quality, looks nice, just be careful with the size of cables you use...................
I have had a pond in the back garden for quite a few years now, fitted with a pump and a UV steriliser. The electrical items were plugged into a four way adapter strip inside a "dry box" style unit. All of these dry box units state that you shouldn't use them for a permanent installation. I can see why now. With all the monsoon rain we have had mine filled up with quite a lot of water resulting in a loud bang! Hence the reason I was looking for a safer and more professional solution in the form of the Blagdon Garden Power Switch Box. Things I like about the box: (1) Appearance and build quality IMHO I think the box is more attractive than most similar units I have seen. Each of the switched outlets is illuminated with an attractive red or green LED to indicate that it is powered up or actually turned on. (2) The box has a three year guarantee. A good sign of confidence in the product. (3) The box comes with a small screwdriver to make the cable connections (4) The main circuit board can be removed from the case by just removing one large screw in the top centre. This makes it much easier to connect the cables. (5) Blagdon are a well established company and offer genuine support from their UK website including spare parts although I did struggle to find any available online. (6) The box has a removable back bracket. This makes fixing it to a fence etc easier and reduces the risk of water ingress by not having to drill holes into the main casing. (7) The box comes with a sheet of stickers so you can label each of the individual switches. Things I Don't Like About the Switch Box: (1) The manual is really too small. The text is tiny and hard to read. (2) You have to be aware of the limitations in respect of cable size (In fairness this applys to other switches as well) The manual says that cables of between 6-9mm OD are suitable. I wanted to connect my garden lights transformer but I couldn't because the cable was too small. The rubber seal would not crush down sufficiently to create a watertight seal. It's a shame they don't supply different rubber seals so as to accommodate thinner cables. Also the holes are the connector blocks on the circuit board are quite small. I had no trouble in connecting the pump and UV unit but the main cable feed in had a thicker mult-strand copper connector that was too big to easily fit into the connector block.
