GaugemasterGM55 Buffer Stop OO Scale with Light

A small buffer stop with a warning lamp that sits well and adds a bit of realism to my Grandson's train set.

These are good but the only issue I did have, they can be easily broken whilst fitting

firstly, i noticed the buffer stop isnt that all detailed as the comparable hornby one, despite being only black plastic. Hornby buffer stop (basic) is black of course but with the beams and steel slightly more detailed. overall the item works and makes a fanatastic addition to any model train layout. works both DC and DCC. Just becareful installing the LED light onto the track, it is rather fragile.

A bit fiddly with the light part of the signal

The lights werent actually attached to the buffers as I expected, both parts are as if they are entirely seperate parts just put in the same box, and there isn't an obvious way to actually attach to the buffers without glueing (I just rest them against the buffers), so you could buy the lights seperate to the buffers. Bit awkward to attach the lights to the track as they don't clip on as I thought they'd do, they just wedge between the 2 rails. They light up fine though when power on (using analogue) Buffers easily attach to the track. When set up, it looks fine though, and does work, just not a normal set of buffers but with lights attached, like I was expecting it to be when I ordered it, but that might be just me misreading the description.

easy to use

good product, work perfectly. In dc mode either the top or the bottom light work depending on current direction.The lights get brighter as more power is added but obviously with them being used for sidings etc full power isn't required, they are bright enough never the less.They are also a good indicator for remembering to switch point and isolate tracks as they light up if the point to the track section is open...
