I use this on my counter to keep my sweets on display. I like it because it is not too high and won't turn over. The light weight top makes it easy open.

Alas, this product came with some exterior damage. Particularly the base has several scuffs, and a slight chip on the face of the spinning plate. That being said, this is honestly a great product otherwise. My biggest qualm with cake stands in the past is that they will have a point where it “clicks” on each rotation, causing a disruption in my icing work. This is especially frustrating when I’m trying to smooth out the outer edge of my cake for the final finish before I start with piping work. This product spins so smoothly and so methodically I absolutely love it. It’s honestly super satisfying to sit there and spin it - so much so I kind of want to get one of those faux pies my great-grandmother used to have in her house so I can use it as a decor piece when I’m not making cakes.Just need to work on the QA a bit is all!

My wife loves to bake cakes, but, having baked one, it often ended up on a plate in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. An iced cake presented a further problem, often requiring crafting a top out of foil shaped around a pot.This attractive rotating cake stand solves that problem. At about 10.5 inches in diameter, the plastic dome fits nicely over a layer cake, and can also cover a group of cupcakes or a stack of brownies. The wood base has a groove for the dome, and the grain of the acacia wood lends an elegant touch.That the dome is acrylic, and not glass, means that it is lighter, which my wife appreciates, although more prone to scratching. Then again, less prone to breaking if dropped. The turntable appears to be on ball bearings, and rotates quite smoothly. This would also be useful for decorating a cake, using the turntable to rotate the cake during decorating, with some wax paper or parchment paper to protect the wood from icing drips and runover.At the time of this review, the price point has dropped to a bit over $30, which makes this more in line with other such cake plates. Whether for every day use or for a party, this cake plate is just the thing to display that baked beauty.

I’m in love with the rich warm color of the wood of this cake plate! While I would like to be the type of person who has the dome in glass, this acrylic is MUCH more realistic for my 3kids lifestyle. The lazy Susan works beautifully and is going to make cake decorating a snap!The only shortcoming I can see is that the dome isn’t terribly tall and while it will definitely fit any box cake that I’m likely to make, it might not fit your super tall professional cakes (I’m just speculating). Here again, while I’d like to be the kind of person who has fancy cakes, realistically I’m more of a box cake girl. But this super beautiful cake plate is helping me reach for my Pinterest dreams while being a practical useful item in my kitchen.I love it!Oh! And quick note, this type of wood scratches easily so keep that in mind too.

It’s a very nice cake stand with a clear plastic cover. The cover fits nicely into a groove on the wood stand. It rotates smoothly. It can fit a cake up to 10 inches in diameter and height of up to 4 inches.For the price this is a good value. My family likes to bake pies for the holidays and this makes a nice display until its contents are devoured. Can also be used for other items like the cookies as shown in my pictures.
