I am so pleased with this lava lamp! It heated up very quickly, within an hour. I purchased the 13" blue colored lamp. The blue is the color of a soft blue, close to a Robin's egg blue. I plan to order another one. I have an original lava lamp that I purchased in the late 60's that still works, so I am hoping that this one will last as long. It came in a well packaged box. Nothing was broken (except the extra bulb) which was no big deal. There were no dents in the base. It was perfect. It looks great in my office, where it fits perfectly in the space near my book shelf. It was very easy to put together. Great ambiance. Please note: I did order the larger one, however it never arrived since it was damaged in route. Amazon refunded my money, then apologized. Great customer service! I just reordered another lamp which arrived within a week! Loving this lamp. Remember this lamp gets very hot! Don't be touching either the base or the glass. It will take several hours to cool after you shut it off. I put mine on a nice wooden base to protect any surface I put the lamp on. Hope you love it as much as I do.

Wonderful quality and super bright I bought this for my husband because he told me he’s always wanted one and now he keeps it on his desk and uses it all the time sometimes ill catch him just staring at it so I would say it was definitely a worth while gift and it’s wonderful quality and didn’t cost and arm and a leg which is even better.

i bought the teal and purple one and they both work great. only thing is the teal is way more active than the purple. both have been on for 5+ hours

I ordered this for my 1970s themed craft room. Anytime I know I’m going to go spend time in the room I turn it on. It takes probably about 45 minutes before it heats up fully - maybe not even that long. But it gives such a cool vibe in my room that i want to hang out there more! Once it gets going, the vibe is unmatched. Warm glow, hypnotic lava, instant mood shift. I stay in the room longer every time, which feels like exactly what a lava lamp is supposed to do.

I am so disappointed in the quality of this lava lamp. I purchased one of these and it arrived broken. The packaging was awful. The lamp was dented and none of these pieces were wrapped. Everything had just been thrown into the box. The base of the lamp bulb was wobbly and barely hanging on wheni pulled it out of the box. I attempted to place it in the lamp hoping it would still work but it did not. When I realized this I went to take the bulb out and the base broke away from the bulb and remained lodged in the lamp. I returned this lamp hoping it was just an outlier and ordered a replacement. It arrived the next day. This lamp was still slightly dented but the other pieces were wrapped up and in good condition. We plugged the lamp in turned it on and waited for it to heat up so my kids could see it work. About 45 minutes later my son brought me over to look at the lamp and some type of spring had broken free inside the glass of the lamp. I returned this one as well and will not be ordering another. Poor packaging and quality control. I wouldn't recommend this product and I will not be ordering from this seller again.

Base arrived bent so there was a slight rock to it. Also gets too hot so we stopped using it out of caution.

I bought this as a christmas gift and it was a hit!
