I eagerly awaited my package of connectors so as to finish my battery box for my kayak. Day in and day out I waited for my little metal and plastic companions. When my notification that they arrived finally sounded I was elated and rushed to my amazon drop off location. With the swipe of a barcode and the unlatching of a door I was the proud new owner of disappointment. The plastic casings that are attached to the male end are absolute garbage. They look like they were roughly cut out of plastic that resembled a cover and then someone who wasn't paying attention tapped the hole for the adapter itself. When I screw the cover on half of my adapters go off at different angles. The female ends have rubber covers that are so delicate that you need to perfectly put the bolts on otherwise you will tear them off. If you need to do 10 ports you need to buy an extra pack because you WILL rip at least one of these covers.The lockup leaves a lot to be desired and I will be switching these out for nicer ports as soon as I possibly can.

Some reviews noted quality issues. I have used several already and had no issues. If you have soldering experience then you control the heat. It only took about 3 seconds to heat the connector to flow the solder and no plastic was melted.The strain relief connector is light weight density plastic that is soft. It is only held on by literally 2 threads. If it is carefully threaded on it seems fine but I am sure if too much shear force is applied to the connector then the plastic shell threads will be stripped.Overall I think having it delivered with prime shipping is the biggest advantage. While most electronics suppliers have more options they usually have order minimums and additional shipping.

Yeah these are cheaply made but I have been unable to find any that were not. At least these are mated pairs. The male actually fits the female without any excess length. In the past I have had to buy the male from one vender and the female from an other vender because the male from the same vendor was too long. Flux will help in not melting the plastic but you still have to be careful. Attaching a small zip tie after screwing on the boot will help with it coming out of the boot when disconnecting.

Plugs appear to be made high school metal shop students. Not sturdy. Questionable choice of materials leads to easy breakage, separation of strain relief, intermittent contact of center. Center pin is riveted to solder tag, rivet is not tight. Plastic bushing is a low temp thermoplastic and is easily affected by the few seconds of heat from a soldering iron. Don't even think about trying to use untinned wire, plug will have melted by time solder flows.

These DC power plugs will work if you're in a pinch, just don't try pushing anything over 5amps through them, otherwise they'll melt. They're made a super cheap plastic and don't hold up very well. Only buy if you don't have any other option. I tried to use these connectors to power a PTC heater for my resin 3D printers and these plugs didn't hold up, i had to replace all of them with more heavy duty DC barrel jacks. BUYER BEWARE, PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The FEMALE connectors are NOT the size described, they are 2.1MM x 5.5MM.The center pin inside the Female connector is supposed to be the larger size 2.5MM, but these are the smaller size 2.1MM. These will not make a good electrical contact, if any.The male connectors were the correct size as specified.MULTIPLE ORDERS HAD SAME PROBLEM-Thinking that maybe it was random case that these are mixed sizes, I ordered it again - but it was the same incorrect mix. Who knows how many they mixed up when packaging...

I purchased this item to install into a guitar effects pedal build. It's not difficult to install or solder wires to, but the female plugs, that came with the set, don't seem to fit tight enough onto the male pin to accomplish constant contact. I have difficulty getting it to connect at all, and can only get a sporadic flicker of the LEDs by moving the plug around. If I an lucky enough to get the LEDs to stay on, the minute I touch one of the footswitches, it looses contact, and the lights turn off.

I used these to hook up low voltage LED under cabinet lighting and they worked fine. I used 6 males an 5 females and only had to scrap one of the eleven. Probably could have made it work, but had plenty of extras.Quality is not the greatest, as several others have noted, but certainly suitable for many, non-extreme, applications. So, If you plan on using in a dragster, aircraft or spaceship you’re building, keep looking. Most other things should be OK.
