Must have if you have a lot of Govee lights
I bought this and mounted it on the side of my nightstand so that I wouldn’t have to get my phone out every time I wanted to turn lights on and off. It is very intuitive to program on the Govee app and allows you to set 6 different commands to control lights in the same or different rooms. It works on lightbulbs, rope lights, TV immersion lights, etc. I was really impressed with the versatility for an item with such a low price. It has a nice feature where you can select a box to use the same button for on and off commands, which really allows you to program 12 commands. I don’t understand exactly how the distributed gateway works, but it connects to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and has excellent range. One tip I would add is that if you can’t get the remote to power on initially (by long pressing button #1), take the back cover off and remove the plastic tab underneath the battery. This was not in the written instructions, but I found it under troubleshooting online. The back cover is a little difficult to take off and I felt like I was going to break it, but once it popped loose and I pulled the battery tab, it powered on with no problem. The only other thing to note is that the commands don’t work perfectly every time. There is a little lag and sometimes you have to press the button twice. I feel that it is still much easier and quicker than opening the Govee app on your phone.

Trigger tasks easily
This is great product, you can setup 6 different trigger, but sometimes this works slow. I do not know why it happening. My initial need was trigger lights immediately but this is not working well.

An Absolute Game-Changer for Smart Home Control!
The GoveeLife Wireless Mini Smart 6 Button Sensor is easily one of the most useful additions to my smart home setup. If you are already invested in the Govee ecosystem, this little remote is an actual game-changer. It eliminates the need to constantly pull out your phone or use voice commands just to adjust your lighting or appliances. The setup through the Govee Home app is seamless, and once configured, it provides instant control over your entire room with zero lag. What makes this sensor stand out is how incredibly versatile it is. With six physical buttons, you can program each one to handle a specific task—whether that’s toggling a single device like a bedside lamp or triggering a complex "group control" scene that adjusts your permanent outdoor lights, curtain lights, and heaters all at once. It’s perfect for creating a "Good Night" button by the door or a "Movie Mode" button on the coffee table. The compact size means you can mount it anywhere or just keep it loose as a portable remote. The build quality is solid, and the buttons have a satisfying click that confirms your command has been sent. Because it works over a stable wireless connection, I haven't experienced any of the connectivity drops that sometimes plague cheaper smart buttons. It effectively turns a complicated smart home into a simple, tactile experience that anyone in the house—including guests or kids—can use without needing access to the app. Overall, this is a 5-star product for its functionality and ease of use. It solves the biggest hurdle of smart home living by making technology feel more natural and accessible. If you have more than a couple of Govee devices, this button sensor is a must-have upgrade that makes managing your environment an absolute breeze.

Excellent Product, so much smaller than I thought. Could use a few tweaks.
This is really excellent. Implementing Smart home switches in my house, and wanted to start here before I started doing wiring. It does everything you need it to do, I feel like you should be able to change multiple lights at once though. So when setting it up, if I want 4 items attached to a button, when I change the settings for that bulb, it should give me a simple option to, Apply to all, or select the devices compatible and let me apply it. Instead it is kind of backwards. Hopefully a little update comes. Other than that, the responsiveness is a bit meh. When you click the button, it take around 2-3 seconds to initialize, but not knocking it because I have one big network, if I had my IoT separated, it probably would work better.

Not what I wanted or thought it was really.
Edit: decided to bump to 5 stars due to the customer service and that if this did what I needed it would be a great product. Customer service reached out and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy, which is a great thing to do. Very appreciated. I was kind of expecting this to be able to control most Govee smart devices, which isn’t unreasonable as that is literally what it claims. Well, there are some smart devices it appears it should work for that it absolutely does not, plus the stuff it makes no sense that it can’t do but it doesn’t. An example, by control a smart device it would seem that mostly just means it can turn it on or off, not any of the other commands that would be great to have on a remote. Opening the app and waiting for things to connect is a real downer but still the best (or only) way to do things. For my tv backlight it can only give the option for on and off, which off works okay but on does absolutely nothing at all. I wanted to change the mode from game to video but that isn’t one of the options. Then , while it seems being able to turn off (and on but that doesn’t work) video dreamview would mean it could similarly turn on music dreamview, this is not the case. So for most anything other than turning off video dreamview it does not appear to work with that or anything involving any dreamview or backlight feature. What it does do, sometimes but not always, is turn the smart bulbs on and off. This mostly only seems to actually work successfully when I have it turn all on or all off. Again, on and off are all it offered for commands not changing anything which is really useless as you almost always want certain parameters but only get whatever it was on last time. I tried making smaller groups to turn on and off and again it’s very hit or miss. My guess is that by control most smart devices they mean it turns stuff on or off and mostly only non lighting devices. I’m guessing because all I have are lights. For me not being able to control these with something other than the app on my phone is close to a total dealbreaker. It’s just not convenient at all so I have just left mine on all the time and rarely use the music dreamview because I don’t feel like getting up to hit the button on it. I don’t get why you would want to just turn stuff on and off and not have buttons asssigned to set up certain presets of options for the stuff but maybe that’s what most want. Kinda ruins the reason to bother with a smart device over a regular light but that’s me. It’s not totally useless and I’m too lazy to bother with the return due to the price being too low to bother with all that. Maybe my space heater will die and I can justify having it by buying a Govee heater or something. I was hoping this would do what it really should easily do, let me make presets and select them. If the tv backlight wasn’t s as neat as it is I would likely just not bother with these products at all as the app is a hassle and has annoying bugs in it. The concept is a good one but the execution is less than amazing to me. With how hit it miss this has been as far as even doing what it lists as possible commands I really wouldn’t recommend it unless I knew you just wanted an on off switch . It likely has its uses they just didn’t turn out to be what I wanted to control without opening the app all the time. I might use it some who knows so I’ll give it the three stars. Wasn’t obvious what it wouldn’t control though so it’s a bit disappointing. Out of potential commmands it barely has an option to do many of them but I see no reason why it wouldn’t or couldn’t do those as well, especially when it’ll do certain things for one device but not the same thing for similar devices. Its not all bad but not what I thought it would be either, also much smaller rhan I imagined it would be but no way to tell from the lack of anything in the images to compare it to. Just one opinion of mine, who you likely don’t even know so take it as you feel fit. For just the most simple uses it is likely not all that bad. At least it was reasonably priced so it’s not that big a deal.

Useless!
At first worked ok for a simple room. But yes random lights turn on unexpectedly. The build is flawed as well. It won't work after so many uses. My old VHS remotes still work!! You'll think its the battery gone bad but it's not. It loses its own connection to the battery. And I even skillfully soldered in a new wire to connect after the bottom connector broke off and with that modification it still eventually loses the connection!!!! It's really annoying to not have a remote for the lights. Yes the phone app works fine. So what am I supposed to do? Leave my phone in the room so everyone can turn the lights on and off? Oh you mean just use the light switch instead? Then whats the point of buying these lights or the remote in the first place?

Upgraded from Govee mini double switch. Works great!!
I previously had the mini double switch which had poor activation. I would say you would have to press it 2-3 more times for the item to activate. Before moving to Hue, I bought this as a last attempt. Works perfect! Zero delays

Great if you have a lot of Govee products.
Works very well, it gives me a lot of options. I can set scenes for multiple rooms. One callout, it does not seem to work with smart kettles. But overall this is perfect for my girlfriend who does not have the smart app, but still wants to control the smart home with ease.
