Ronseal RSLTODC1L Oil and Drive Cleaner

My car had an oil leak and 6 months of drips on my block driveway and it was a big stain - 2 sq ft. I had used a power washer with detergent and it didnt help so bought this stuff. Applied neat as suggested and brushed and left for 20mins. The instructions say wash it off but I used a power washer and it made a big difference. It was ok after first use still very noticable. Did it again as before and the stains are much not quite gone but you wouldn't pay attention to it.

Two applications of this, for a minor oil leak on tarmac. It's improved things but seems to have darkened the area it was brushed onto slightly. We're planning another application and will rinse heavily. Jury still out.

Used engine oil deposited on our light grey resin drive. Whilst it took five attempts I can confirm the oil spots were removed. I can confirm the product is easy to use and does not need a large amount to remove such oil stains. There is no need to order a large amount therefore, a small container will suffice.

I searched on Google for oil stain remover and needless to say Amazon popped up. I went through some of the products listed and thought i would try this one. Now before i proceed, I would like to say, I never leave reviews without giving a product a fair go first. I un-packed this, read the instructions and proceeded. I had an oil stain/trail on my block paving driveway as well as the tarmac at the end of my drive. The oil had been there for approx 5-7 days. I applied this neat to the oil areas and then after a minute or two, scrubbed with a hard bristle brush. I allowed it two sit for a further few minutes, allowing the product to do it`s magic..... before hosing off. I went back out to see if the water had dried back and anticipated a clean drive and tarmac area. Water had dried back, stain still evident. I thought maybe it needed another go, so proceeded with the same process. Again oil stain still evident. As you can see from the pictures......that`s after 2 attempts, so disappointing to say the least. I will now search for an alternative product. Maybe this product works better on less textured or less porous surfaces.

Last month I had my rear garden re-landscaped, with which I’m really pleased. However, their vehicles all seemed to leak oil and mostly over my drive. Consequently, I went on to Amazon to find a product to remove the oil stains. Reading the reviews for this product almost put me off, except that I had used other products supplied by this company that I have had good results. Therefore, I decided to ignore a lot of the comments and give it a go! I was glad that I did - some people think one application should be enough! Sorry to disappoint but removal of any stain can take more than one try, whether carpet, upholstery and in this case block paving drives. Anyway it took 3 applications, the first was really impressive and after the two further applications – no stain! Really recommend!

Not impressed at all. Completely failed to remove the oil from my tarmac drive & despite following the instructions carefully - usage of this liquid has irreparably damaged my drive way. Total & utter expensive rubbish. I now have to save up to have the whole driveway re surfaced.

Cleaned the drive but, never touched the oil stain that I purchased the product for.
