Small and expensive but the best Keto bread i have ever come across.
I have tried every Keto bread ever made at some point and none has ever been that great and i just gave up looking in the end. I saw this ridiculously expensive bread and thought well what the heck I’ll give it a go. Firstly, you see the loaf is very small so with the price and size you have to be not bothered about value to be happy with getting this bread. Right now, for the review I took out the first slice and although nice and soft it has a strong smell that I did not like, I buttered the slice and took a bite it had no strong taste which was pleasant enough but it was so chewy and an unpleasant texture couldn’t eat it. SO WHY THE 5 STARS? Well, I took out a second slice and toasted it and the smell went away, the chewiness went away and the taste and texture were now fine. This Keto bread is just like a normal bread when toasted and that’s something no other Keto bread I have come across can claim.

Game changer!
Oh wow this bread is so good. I’d tried a few batches of 90 second microwave mug bread but revolting each time. Saw the Heylo range and though it’s expensive I thought I’d try it. It arrived yesterday and I tried a single slice of toast. For ‘me’ it’s pretty much like regular white bread!! Soft, toasts nicely, tastes delicious toasted. Today I made a cheese and ham toastie. I don’t count the butter, Gouda cheese and ham as they’re all virtually no carb. So just 2 net grams of carbs for this toastie (I allow myself 20g net carbs for my keto metrics)? Unbelievable. Almost too good to be true. The only catch I can see is that it’s NOT GLUTEN FREE. So if you’re gluten intolerant or coeliac it’s no good for you. I do feel a little ‘bloated’ relatively since I ate the toastie about half an hour ago but I haven’t had any gluten intolerant my diet for a couple of months. I’ll freeze this bread and have toasties etc sparingly. If it means I can have a toastie or a bacon sarnie rather than ordering a dirty McDonalds etc it’s an absolute win. I’m flying tomorrow - extremely early flight - so I’m going to make up some cheese, ham, mustard mayo sandwiches for the flight so I don’t have to resort to the carby rubbish served up by the airline. As you can probably tell, I’m a big fan and absolutely recommend this bread (I’ve only tried the white)

Vile tasting and went moldy. NEVER again :)
If you are desperate for bread you can try it but it tastes nothing like white bread, do not buy it if you're looking for a 'tastes no different' option. It tastes VERY different. It has a disgusting aftertaste like metal which no seasoning, filling or cooking method covers in any way shape or form, the taste destroys the flavour of anything you put with it. Even a mountain of cheese and toasting within an inch of its life could save the slices from the disgusting taste that rips through the sandwich. You could fry the thing in lard and the tears of God and it wouldn't taste even remotely 'alright'. Also, my packs went moldy after a week of being stored in a dry cupboard in sealed bags. My batch didn't arrive damaged or contaminated so as far as I know this is just the way the bread is. I'd rather eat gravel. The bread is chewy and gummy and sprang back to its shape after being smushed and the bread loaf itself is tiny. The slices are nowhere near even half the size of a regular slice of bread. Overall it's awful quality for the high price. Avoid like the plague.

For the more serious low carb eater
I like the look of this bread and it is nice and soft. However, it is very different to regular bread. It has a different texture, taste and smell. I think if you toast it and disguise it under beans then it is not too bad.I guess I am just hoping for too much really.

Very nice!
I have been on a keto diet for a year, and lost shed loads of weight. However, I have really missed bread and bought several brown keto loaves, which were nice, but I prefer this white loaf. The only thing that I don't like is the ludicrous price. Update: I have now discovered how to make reasonable keto bread in a bread maker for a fraction of the price. Keto Bread Maker Recipe Ingredients (for a standard loaf): Vital Wheat Gluten Flour: 1 1/4 cups (150g) Almond Flour: 1 cup (100g) Coconut Flour: 2 tbsp (15g) Flaxseed Meal: 1/4 cup (25g) (optional, adds structure and fiber) Instant Yeast: 2 tsp Warm Water: 1 cup (240ml), about 110°F (43°C) Olive Oil: 2 tbsp Eggs: 2 large Sweetener: 1 tsp (like erythritol, optional for flavor balance) Salt: 1 tsp Xanthan Gum: 1 tsp (for better structure) Instructions: Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, and sweetener. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine vital wheat gluten flour, almond flour, coconut flour, flaxseed meal (if using), xanthan gum, and salt. Mix well. Prepare the Wet Ingredients: Beat the eggs lightly and mix with olive oil. Load the Bread Maker: Add the wet ingredients (eggs and oil) to the bread maker pan first. Pour in the yeast mixture. Add the dry ingredients on top. Select the Bread Maker Setting: Choose the basic or white bread cycle on your bread maker. If there's a setting for a low-carb or gluten-free loaf, you can use that too. Set the crust color preference (light or medium works best). Let It Rise: Vital wheat gluten gives it elasticity, so the dough should rise well. If your bread maker allows, check during the first kneading stage to ensure the dough is forming a ball. If it’s too dry, add a tablespoon of water. If too wet, sprinkle in a little almond flour. Cool Before Slicing: Once done, remove the loaf and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing. This prevents crumbling.

No competition, in product or customer service
I've been buying this product now for a few years as my go-to keto bread. Tried others just to see what's out there. Heylo has no competitors in taste, it's superior in every way - as well as also in customer service. Royal Mail made a mess in the most recent delivery, and the Heylo team was so accommodating and helpful. Don't think twice.

For a low carb bread ‘alternative’ it’s superb
I’ve always been a bread baker of many types but never tried to make low carb bread. I bought this to make croutons for French Onion soup, but we couldn’t resist trying it for a sandwich (we haven’t had starchy carbs for months!!) Safe to say, it’s not going to be exactly the same as regular bread, however it’s a decent effort - slightly bouncy texture as bread but that’s negligible as toast. The slices are small, but once I’d made the sandwich (cheese and tomato, for the record) it was filling and delicious. Won’t be making a regular habit of it, but in the lead up to Christmas, I will use this for stuffing, for breading meats and cheeses and for croutons. A great effort that just needs a decent filling or something delicious doing with it. Also, guess what - it looks like bread!! And as you eat with your eyes, it’s the real deal. Thank you - will buy again sometime.

Low carb bread
This must be the worst bread that we have ever tried to eat, we found it very hard to chew it, no actual taste like trying to eat elastic bands, not at all good, I certainly won't be ordering any more, some people may like this sort of thing but not for me, waste of money.
