I've used these type of connectors for decades and they are an excellent way to ensure a good electrical connection, plus they add mechanical strength and waterproofing as well.I always tin bare wires, put the heat shrink on, bend the wires over each other then use these with a heat gun (or at a push a soldering iron or lighter) to make the final seal. There's hot melt adhesive inside (a thin coating on the inner wall) so it makes a waterproof and tight seal either end.Comes with some short lengths of normal 2:1 heat shrink, it's a handy pack to have, if a little expensive for the number you get. There are larger packs with better value, but for occasional use, why spend more for connectors you won't use.Nice little box, although mine had the catch break after opening it twice, so don't discard the cellophane sleeve packaging, it comes in handy.
