AKG (Alpha Ketoglutarate) 1,000mg Per Serving (180 Capsules) Different and May Be More Effective Than AAKG (Recently Studied for Anti-Aging Properties)

Lo he sentido bien, ningún malestar gástrico como mencionan otros. lo único es que está pésimo el encapsulado, hace 3 semanas lo compré y ya van 2 cápsulas vacías que encuentro y algunas otras las he encontrado medio llenas y otras llenas. Así que no se puede garantizar la dosis de 1000 mg por día. Segunda compra. Se corrigió el problema de cápsulas rotas. Debo añadir que sufría dolor en mis articulaciones y me he sentido muy bien, tanto que pude dejar los medicamentos para el dolor y la inflamación. Puedo concluir que tiene efectos antiinflamatorios. Eso sí, si dejo de consumir el AKG, el dolor de articulaciones en mis manos empieza a volver.

The AKG product really works, but even just one capsule (500 mg) per day was too much for me. It took away my peace and calmness -- I was too "on edge" mentally and physically. Found myself ruminating, obsessing, and over-reacting. Also found myself with a slight tremor and hyperactive/spasmodic reflexes. If any of this sounds familiar, you may want to consider taking a break and see if things get better. All those negative symptoms went away after I stopped taking the AKG. It took about 4 days to get back to a good balanced central nervous system. On the 2nd day I felt withdrawal symptoms, but by the 3rd day my CNS was rebalancing itself. Everyone is a little different in what they need for a good balanced CNS. But too much Glutamate is a known Excitotoxin, meaning that too much of it is toxic and will over stimulate and kill nerve & brain cells, which is not good for anyone. Glutamate is closely related to AKG because Glutamate is simply the amidated form of AKG. This means that Glutamate is easily made from AKG in the human body by replacing the oxygen group (=O) on the carbon backbone of AKG with an amino group (-NH2) and a hydrogen (-H) to produce Glutamate. In fact the human body is so good at making Glutamate, that there are several metabolic pathways and enzymes that actually do this using AKG. So in summary, if you're taking too much AKG then your cellular metabolism (including brain cells) tries to balance it out by converting it to Glutamate, which transfers the imbalance to having too much over stimulating and toxic levels of Glutamate in the CNS. The human brain is the most complex structure in the known universe, and is finely tuned for optimum performance. Messing with the balance of that fine tuning should be done with caution and a well-informed understanding - caveat emptor!

Anti ageing

I cannot recommend this product. I had been using another brand's Ca AKG and was looking for a cheaper alternative and came across this. I took a chance and ordered a bottle. First off, there was no indication of which type of AKG is in this supplement. To my knowledge common AKG supplement should either be Calcium AKG or Arginine AKG. The other problem was that I started having intense stomach pains after I started on this supplement. It got so bad that at one point I was sure I am having stomach ulcers. When I suddenly realized that the pain started at around the same time I switched supplement. I stopped taking this and the pain went away within 2 days. I had no further problems after going back to my regular Ca AKG brand.
