Pulled a full-size truck like it owed me money.
Mounted the X-BULL XRS 13,500lb winch on my Jeep, and I’ve already used it to recover a buddy’s Silverado buried to the frame. For the price? Absolutely worth it. It doesn’t just look good—it performs when it counts. ✅ What I Liked: Pulling power is legit – 13,500lb rating isn’t just for show. It handled heavy recoveries without groaning or overheating. Wireless + wired remotes – Both work great. Wireless is fast and responsive within 50 ft. Synthetic rope – Lightweight, safer than steel, and way easier to handle solo. Overall construction feels solid – Not Warn-tier, but not harbor-freight-tier either. ⚠️ What Could Be Better: Instructions = meh – Basic wiring info, but no detail. YouTube saved the day. No isolator included – I added a kill switch to avoid parasitic draw and stay trail-safe. 🔧 Install Notes: Mounted it to a Tyger Fury bumper (fit perfectly). Took about 90 minutes with wiring. Used a breaker switch inline for battery safety and routed the remote plug port to a cleaner spot with a weatherproof cap. ⭐ Final Verdict: If you’re not trying to drop a grand on a name but still want pull-your-buddy-out-of-a-ditch power, this is the winch. It’s not flashy, it’s not fancy—but it works. Just do a clean install, and this winch will absolutely earn its keep.

Fiery nice winch for the price. Highly recommend!
Install wasn’t too bad and the quality is nice! It looks amazing! Instructions are good and it functions fine. Haven’t used it for a recovery yet but seems like it’ll work great. Installed on my Amazon knock off Mopar steal bumper! I highly recommend removing the grill during install, makes the wiring much easier. Also install new headlights while the grill is off, the winch has to be unbolted and slid forward to get the grill off. I mounted the winch first and then a few weeks later had to unbolt it and slide it forward to get the grill off to install headlights. The bottom 4 bolts that secure the winch are the most difficult part.

Great unit
Don't let yourself get caught up in the "name brand" shaming cycle. Sure, you can spend four times the amount for a name brand. But this unit will do anything a warn or smittybuilt can. AT LESS THAN HALF THE COST. Build quality was fantastic. The winch operates flawlessly. It's a 216:1 ratio, so isn't going to blow the doors off in a race, but it will get there without overheating. Weighing 59lbs with synthetic rope, it fits perfectly into my Proline bumper on my 2007.5 Dodge Ram 3500. I'm not one for looks of a winch. I more care about how they perform. But this winch looks excellent on the front end of my truck, and pulls like a champ. I wanted to test the unit, so I hooked up to my camper after receiving the winch. Between the truck and trailer, the scale says I'm 16,500 lbs. The winch handled the weight fine up a roughly 10 degree grade. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. Should come in handy l late season elk hunting.

solid winch
Bought this winch for my 1997 Jeep TJ. Installation took about an hour but only because it was my first time installing a winch (I'm rather mechanical/handy). If I had to do it again I probably could do in 1/3 the time knowing now where to route my wires to battery. BTW the battery lead extensions are just long enough to rout to battery safely with a few inches to spare. The remote control works flawlessly and the remote cord is long enough to operate the which sitting in driver seat or at a distance from the vehicle. Installed it and immediately went to my local mud/sand hole and "got stuck" intentionally to see how it would hold up. Tied around a tree and the thing yanked it out with relative ease from about +/- 60 feet out. Motor didn't overheat in the time I used it. The engage/disengage worked as it should. The hook with the magnet is also pretty clutch. After one use i'm very happy with how it yanked my tj out of the sand/muk in south florida. I'll come back to edit my reiview after a few months of use. Overall first impressions are that I'm very happy with price/value/effectiveness of this 13.5k winch. Would recommend.

excellent build quality
very nice and excellent build quality, comes with wire and wireless remote. no need to pair to use the remote. for my bronco installation if the main ground wire is few inch longer will be better, but I still just make it to the battery. If it comes with the cover will be excellent. Haven't use it yet, will update after a season of use. Use it over the year, done may recovery for myself and help others. never fail! One time my car's 4 wheel system fail in the middle of the trail run, only have 2H half way through. the winch help me finished and get to the main road. must have!self

Great Fit for 2022 F250 + Rough Country Hidden Mount
I installed the X-BULL 13,500 lb XRS Series winch on my 2022 F250 using the Rough Country hidden winch mounting plate, and I’m very happy with the setup. I looked at several comparable winches in this class before purchasing, and this one struck a really good balance between build quality and price. On initial inspection, everything feels solid and well-constructed. The housing, control box, and hardware all give a sturdy, confidence-inspiring first impression. It’s definitely heavy and feels substantial, but still more reasonably priced than many competing brands — especially considering it comes with synthetic rope. The synthetic line is lightweight but feels strong, and the aerospace aluminum fairlead is a nice touch. The magnetic fairlead cover system is well designed and holds in place securely with just slight tension from behind, keeping everything looking clean when not in use. During initial testing (no load yet), the winch operates at what I’d consider a normal noise level for this class — not overly loud or concerning. Line speed seems decent as well, with smooth spooling and no hesitation. I haven’t had to use it under a real load yet or expose it to heavy water conditions, but based on the construction and first impressions, I’m optimistic it will hold up well. Fitment-wise, if you’re running a 2020–2022 Super Duty with the Rough Country hidden mount, this winch is a good size option that still fits without major hassle. Everything tucked in cleanly behind the bumper. The wireless remote works well and has good range. My only suggestion would be that X-BULL include a bumper-mounted extension for the wired remote. Since the winch is mounted behind the bumper and the control box is tucked up under the engine bay area, plugging in the wired controller isn’t practical without reaching around awkwardly. The wireless option works fine, but if you prefer a hardwired connection, you’ll likely want to add an extension to relocate the plug to a more accessible spot on the bumper. Overall, this is a solid, well-built 13.5K winch that offers excellent value — especially for Super Duty owners running a hidden mount setup. Looking forward to putting it to real use. Update! XBull sent me a new unit after mine failed!
XBull customer service team came through! Great service! After reading my review I was contacted by Xbull to see if there was any way to help and if I could provide them with more details. The team was very curious about the unit I received and wanted to know every detail to make sure it didn’t happen again. I was glad they contacted me and was more than willing to help. After several conversations spanning over a few days Xbull decided that they should send me a new winch to replace the faulty one I had received 6 weeks prior. Even Warn didn’t bother to help me when their winch broke. After receiving the replacement winch it took me about an hour after delivery to remove the faulty unit and install the new one. Night and day difference in sound and performance. The battery draw was about 25% less than the faulty unit too. I tested it and confirmed everything under load. Works amazing. I’ve now used it about a dozen times in the last 2 weeks and it works just as well as the day I received it. The first one was half dead after a handful of uses, and even on the first use wasn’t nearly as strong as the replacement unit. I’ve been a customer for 5 years now. I will definitely be staying with XBull. Below is my initial review when I unknowingly received a faulty unit. Initial review: Works well enough for a few sticky situations. Then it gets really loud and noticeably weaker. Motor just doesn’t last. It’s definitely not 13,500 pounds even if you’ve only got 10 feet of line out. Especially if it’s been used to pull your rig out a dozen times. Gets louder and louder from the motor/gears every time you use it. This is my 4th xbull winch. Every time XBull releases a new winch they seem to fix one problem at a time. So I was hoping this winch wouldn’t have issues. It does sadly. The remote is ok so long as you are standing really close and pointing right at the winch. Having a spotter use the wireless remote from more than 10-15 ft away gets hard from the interference.
