Davis Vantage Vue Wireless Weather Station w/WeatherLink Console

We have had this Davis weather station for a year now, the app is easy to use and set up with the station. It is great to be able to see all the data the station supplies and now yearly comparisons. The station is a better quality than the last station we purchased, worth the extra cost. The display gives all the information you may need, it’s nice that the display goes to sleep and quickly wakes back up when needed.

Been using a Davis weather station for the past 30 years, but it finely quit working, so i replaced it with a Vantage Vue and I'm very happy with it. Was easy to set up and is working great so far like see if i can get other 30 years out of this one.

I got this to measure wind speed mainly (we’re on the edge of a dune overlooking the lake). We received it two days after it was ordered, went to Lowe’s to pick up a pole and some wood and had it mounted and reporting wind speeds about an hour after it was delivered. That night the wind picked up. The display looked great even though the wind speeds hit 60mph

I have an older version of this with the previous version of the indoor receiver/console, and I loved it. The outdoor unit is the same and has lasted well over a decade in a high desert environment (111F to -18F). My old outdoor unit is failing, so I decided to try a new package with a touch-screen "update". My unit arrived in good condition, but it was clear early on that the touch screen console was lacking in performance and quality compared to any smartphone released since the iPhone's first version. Touch interface feels and responds like something from 30 years ago or the infuriatingly slow and imprecise gas station touch screens or decades old airport check-in touchscreens. Do not expect a modern tablet or phone level of interaction. The response time was extremely slow and would lock up often (with no response to anything for a few minutes, hard resetting to get any functionality again). Buttons on the screen are not actually buttons in most cases, but expect a swipe action, which took time to discover. The firmware was not up to date and was fundamentally different than the online manual, and without WiFi to connect to the internet, a few options that I wanted were not available (this was being installed where I don't have the option for internet access): one example being the screen could not ever be turned off with the older firmware. Many things seemed lacking in the interaction, such as when being prompted to enter lat/lon information, no hint about the expected numerical format is given. Customization is limited to only select option pairings, and overall I find the new touch-screen layout to offer less information at a glance and this requires more interaction (with that terrible touch-screen) and hassle to get to the amount of information I could get to with the old fixed layout console. I did not keep this and would preference a used console vs. the new one, but if there is no change by the time I really need a new unit, I'll go with another brand. The outdoor unit remains excellent and I'd buy another one to pair with my 14 year old indoor unit.

I had the old version of this and it worked fantastic for nearly 20 years! I had high expectations for the new version only to be disappointed when the new display was defective. The new display had a "dead" zone so the touch screen was unusable. Product has been returned for a refund, and I re-ordered. I will update this review when the replacement arrives. --- Update after one week of use of the replacement: The sensor array is working as well as the old unit I had, seems to be identical to the one I purchased nearly two decades ago - and that is NOT a bad thing! I really like the new display console, though setting it up was a bit frustrating, and it had a few quirks and hangs during the process. Once it was setup however, it seems to be working really well - much easier to read than the old console, and access to historical data is a huge plus! Overall I am very pleased with the purchase, and if the first console was not defective and the software was a bit more mature I would have easily given it five stars.

So far so good. This is my second Davis product, the first was a Davis Vantage Pro 2 which was still running after 14 years. Just purchase the Vantage Vue and so far it has been great. There is a Davis Weather Link App you can setup to check your weather station from your iPhone. The help desk assisted in helping with any problems......... Made in America which is impressive also....... Expensive yes but they work, great support and they last along time...........

This thing is AWESOME!!! Love having REAL information as to what’s happening outside. And customer service is wonderful. Had a glitch on monitor and they sent me a replacement no charge. I love it when a company stands behind its product.

La stazione Vantage Vue che ho acquistato tramite Amazon per l'utilizzo in una fattoria in Italia non funziona: la console di lettura non riceve i dati trasmessi dalla postazione esterna. Ho contattato il servizio tecnico della Davis Instrument negli USA il quale ha diagnosticato che quello che mi era stato inviato era configurato con una frequenza radio americana. È quindi inutilizzabile in Europa dove questa frequenza radio è vietata perché riservata ai servizi di emergenza e alla polizia. Il dipartimento tecnico della Davis mi ha invitato a restituire la stazione negli Stati Uniti e ad acquisire una stazione in Europa configurata con una frequenza radio autorizzata in Europa. È un peccato che Amazon permetta la vendita di un prodotto le cui caratteristiche non sono legali nel paese di ricezione.

Just installed it few hours ago , I’m happy with my purchased this is an upgrade from Accurite Atlas to Davis Vantage Vue its an easy set up , totally recommend it a bit expensive but its worth it!
