I purchased a really cool lamp at a thrift store. The light bulb was working, and I assumed the lightbulb was a screw-in base like all the other lamps in the universe. The bulb burned out and I unscrewed it and saw this weird base with little metal things sticking out of the bottom. It said it MR11 GU10 on it. I looked them up and they were hard to find. The only ones I could find were around $15 per bulb. I was getting the lamp ready to donate back to the thrift store when I decided to give these a try. Perfection! They worked and now I should have years-worth of bulbs. I am very grateful for finding these.

I've been pretty happy with these until lightning blew out all 9 in my kitchen. I'm not sure why these vs the old IKEA ones and some CFL ones I have that only these blew, but that isn't their fault. I bought a couple more packs as I've been happy with them. They are slightly loose in a couple of my fittings but I just jiggle them now and then if they go out. Worth buying instead of swapping out to new fixtures.

When I first opened the box, I didn't think I had ordered (or received) the right item, and I was worried. Still, for the purposes of review, thought I'd try it anyway. Happy to report it's totally compatible with it's "bigger" cousin here that it's replacing, which was probably halogen?) Anyway, brightness seems same as the 35 watt non-led fixture, so really the only difference is there is some room in the housing around the bulb (about an extra half to quarter inch) visible as this bulb is smaller and doesn't use all the space in the socket/housing of, say, a recessed Ikea Blixt light. Works great though, and the smaller size was only noticeable to me the first 1-2 times I walked into the room and now I don't "see" the difference, especially once they are on. Still, mentioning the size difference in case you are not replacing all the bulbs in a given fixture, some size differential might look odd. Great bulb though!

This is the smaller based that fits some track lighting needs. Be sure of the size of the bulb before you buy. The pinned bottom comes in a larger size and looks the same but will not fit your fixture. The mini/small bulb is hard to find in most local markets.
