This only get power from adapter not from laptop. No WAPA wireless chrging. Planned incompatibility
Dell taught me to look out for every parameter we normally take for granted in docks and don't realize until we miss it. This dock was so close to satisfy my every requirement and then failed on something basic. I had big hopes from Dell docks but they all lack something or the other.This one, I bought for my non-Dell laptop, hoping it will drive two monitors, or drive a single display at 4k120hz which it does as it's the only dell dock to have UHBR. I bought this dock because buying a USB-C 100W PD charger and UHBR dock separately would have been costlier but now it turns out it can't do a simple job as to power the dock by the laptop when there is a powercut. I have no idea how an enterprise product be this tone deaf!I knew I would miss some features due to non-Dell computer, but it seems it's not because the features would be incompatible. I managed to gitlab solutions that make it easily possible to get all the features so it's all willfully blocked. I even managed freesync, and solutions to get the dock running without Dell adapter and be powered by laptop, but normal people won't be able to, which is what makes it bad.
