I LOVE these affordable, thick and creamy oil pastels. They blend beautifully. I appreciate their ability to steam roll over almost any medium which comes in really handy if you need to "correct" an error made with a permanent paint, ink, pencil etc. This color way includes many shades that other oil pastel sets are missing. I'll continue to buy these as I use them up! One thing to note.....You'll need to spray your work with a fixative to set them, as they remain soft and creamy after application. No big deal.

This is an excellent set of oil pastels. They are soft and creamy and easy to blend. The sticks do not break easily and the colors are rich and vibrant, although this particular set has more neutral colors so the colors are softer and more muted which are absolutely perfect for landscapes. And the price is very reasonable. I just took a shot in the dark ordering the Mont Marte brand and I couldn't be happier. I proceeded to order a larger set of the brighter more vibrant colors as well. You won't be disappointed as long as you order the box that says "Extra Soft". However, if you're looking for oil pastels to lay down an initial layer, then their regular variety will work fine. I have both. The "extra soft" is best for the final and top layers, however I do use them also for the initial layer. No problem at all.

After hours of research, I decided to get these over other sets because I wanted soft, blendable pastels with a gorgeous color range and without an odor. They absolutely delivered. Really beautiful presentation and packaging. Dreamy and incredibly creamy colors that blend smoothly. Perfect for thicker impasto and impressionist styles which I was going for. I could not be more satisfied. I love them and I had the most fun I’ve had making art in years. Truly impressed. These are amazing value.

I love my Mont Marte oil pastels, even more than Sennelier oil pastels. They are smooth, vibrant, soft, and blend like a dream. They also work well with mediums like Gamsol. They are not too soft so they don’t make a mess when applying multiple layers. I enjoy the additional control offered by these pastels and they feel like they will last a long time, unlike super soft, high-end brands.

These are indeed soft and buttery. However some colors are hit and miss. Some colors are more crumbly when blending and not as saturated. I found this more with the pastel colors. Also the color selection had lots of pastel hues but not as many greens, browns, reds and yellows. Prob would be great for florals but for fruit and landscapes , not so much

Excellent product! Definitely worth the price. The variety of color choices and the quality are great. Would recommend, very happy with this product.

I want to preface my review by saying that I have never touched nor even seen an oil pastel until I received my order today. I am brand new to pastels and I wondered how oil pastels compared to soft pastels. I found out. I found these Mont Marte Extra Soft Oil Pastels Vibrant Hues Premium to be very easy to work with. They glided when I applied them. It was very easy. They felt buttery - butter that is still a little cool and not totally melty. They were super easy to blend. I broke a few in half to do some side applications. They broke easily and did not crumble. They were packaged well and all arrived intact. The 2 pics I have, the snake plant was just a quick sketch out before I even knew how you were supposed to use them. Then I added the background color later while trying something. The purple flower was after watching several videos and really focusing on layering and blending. It has 3 layers on GR DZPlus oil pastel paper. For my purposes, 120 oil pastels for $42 is pretty good. I haven't seen these reviewed by professional artists but they have reviewed the Mungyo Gallery (high praise) and several reviewers here positively compare these to the Mungyo. These are half the price. So, take my review as a total newbie as you like. I liked these oil pastels and I hope to use them a lot to make some beautiful art someday when my skill catches up to my motivation.

I got these on sale, and I will say, I was very impressed with the feel of them. I will preface this by saying I’m merely an amateur and mess around with mediums for fun rather than to create quality art. For my purpose, they’re stellar. They glided nicely over a mixed media notebook I have and they were a decent price when I got them over half off. I made a full page gradient of the colors and they blended better than I expected. It was rather fun as a sensory experience too, the texture is quite satisfying. They’re a bit firm but once you work with them more they seem to soften up on the inside. Used every single pastel and not a single one broke so there’s that too. I was pressing rather firmly too.

Davvero sorprendentemente morbidi. La scatola contiene 52 pastello extra morbidi e fondentissimi col solo dito, Ottima idea i 4 bianchi che sono quelli che vanno via prima. I colori sono brillanti e le tinte si fondono benissimo. Davvero nulla da invidiare ai pastelli più professionali e blasonati

Loving the colours and creamy texture of these pastels, however they arrived kind of messed up and partially damaged in the box.
