Designer's Touch 560311 Vertical Blind Wand Control

I got one of these to repair my vertical blinds instead of buying new blinds. It’s cheap but so far after one month it’s still working great. Fairly universal design, should work on most vertical blind setups.

Wasn't the exact match but i made it work. So I gotta give it 5 starts even though it wasn't the same size or match my current set up but I made it work. Can't really complain for the price.

I tried this, it doesn't open and close my blinds properly, it always seems to get stuck. The star mechanism that holds the little bar seems to be loose, so when you try to twist it, it won't turn properly.

My blinds wouldn't open anymore because the gears inside were stripped out/broken. I bought this as a replacement. It did not fit my blinds. The "arms" that extend out are supposed to attach into the first blind, but these arms were much thicker than the existing one, so it would not attach. It did NOT look like the picture on Amazon, which looked just like the one that I needed to replace. I tried to file it down with a nail file, but that was taking too long so I ended up getting my dremel out and grinding it down with that. Plastic shavings are everywhere, but I finally got it small enough to be able to fit into the existing blinds. It took much more work than it needed to be, but it got the job done and appears to be the only available gear on Amazon. It was $15 for this little gear that I had to grind on to make work, and it's making me wonder if I should have just spent more and gotten a whole new set of blinds. Looks like there are options at Lowes from $40 - $75 for cheap vinyl blinds, which is all these were. Ah well, it works again, so I'll get some more life out of them for now. But if you just have cheap blinds that are already old (and you've had slats falling off for years and needing re-enforcement to put back up), then you might consider just buying a new set so you don't have the regret that I currently have. :) If you have expensive blinds, then just be aware that it might not be a drop in fit and may need some "customization" to install.

Ordered this because our vertical blind rotation transmission was stripped after many years of service. I was searching for a new header when this popped up. Thought it was worth the risk. It was. Wasn't a snap to install but after anyalizing the situation I was able to adapt it to our situation. It was close to the original part but not identical. I had to lubricate the tracks and holes at each end of the header to reduce the force it takes to rotate the blinds and slide them. Happy with the results.

I moved into an apartment and my blinds stopped rotating and were so difficult to slide. WD-40 didn’t help. I ended up breaking the wand that’s used to slide the blinds open/closed. I brought this piece & that fixed everything! No WD-40 needed & it saved me $75, which is the cost of new blinds. The seller sent a little note with my purchase which was so endearing. I would definitely purchase again.

My son recently moved into his own home, which came with vertical blinds. Unfortunately, those blinds did not turn as they should, I told my son to hold off buying new set until we tried this little piece saved us a ton of money. And it does what it’s advertised to do, received quickly, and well packaged.
