Best Mandolines around
These Borner's are the best mandolines around, Don't bother with cheaper Inferior ones, had my previous one for around 20-25years before replacing

Very sharp!
Had one of these years ago so was pleased to see same design. Cuts vegetables with ease, slices and julienne style. Love it.

A GOOD KITCHEN TOOL - SECOND GENERATION
I've had a Borner mandolin for decades, and it has been a very dependable tool. Now it has finally become time to retire and replace it. This new Borner - which is almost (but not quite) identical - is also excellent and I am sure will last just as long. If I was to be picky, I would say the lager "chipper" produces rather thinner "chips" than I'd like; but this seems a pretty minor point and I'm sure I will adapt! I haven't rated this item for "sheerness" as this is a term I associate with nylon stockings and Medway towns - neither has much to do with a kitchen slicer.

The best slicer on a market
I've been using Börner Slicer since 80's when I bought first one. After over 30 years of using I decided to buy a new one as previous one at last started to losing its sharpness. And believe me I am frequent user as my family always have fresh vegetables for diner and with this slicer its really easy to prepare everything in a minute. Cabbage, carrot, parsnip, tomato and potato are easy to dice or slice doesn't matter how tough they are. The price however could be a little bit lower but if you like to prepare own meals instead of eating ready ones it's worth it.

My previous one was sharper
I bought this to replace my old one as that had become dull after many years of service. This version has the guard and the stand which are good but so far I have been disappointed in the performance for creating carrots julienne and tomato shredding. I have also tried it for butternut squash but it doesn't seem strong enough. It may well end up in the drawer of unused items.

Simply brilliant.
Even as a caterer with a plethora of expensive equipment I love this, especially as it is so easy to take away with you for offsite locations. Uniform slices every time and I love the new guard when not in use. I’ve had one for too many years to count but lost my last one in a move. I made the mistake of ordering a v slicer that was exceptionally cheap but boy was that a mistake and it went to a charity shop. If it doesn’t say Bornier don’t buy it.

Great quality product
Perfect for its use, German quality for longevity as cheaper thin mandolines tend to break with constant use. Not the most simple model, but highly customisable for use. This makes it not the best model for beginners, but if youre buying a second mandoline this is the one. Cant wait for easy near-instant raw salads

Doubtful
Seemed very cheap n nasty compared to an older original v slicer we have cheaper plastics not as sturdy
