Invincia Stealth Fountain Pen - Black

I'm new to using fountain pens and after a bit of research and listening to other comments purchased the Monteverde Invincia Stealth. Straight out of the box and I loved the look of this all black pen with the black nib. I like the understated but classy look and the matching black nib appears to be relatively rare with the majority of fountain pens. I started with the ink cartridge provided and found it to be a great writer straight away and having been using this pen for a couple of months it continues to be a joy. The ink flows really well and not aware of any skipping when I am writing. It is a reasonably weighty pen but not so heavy that would cause any concern if writing for any length of time while using cartridges or the ink converter supplied is very easy. One warning is to be a bit careful in how you carry this pen: I was rather foolish when caring this pen for a few weeks where I neglected to consider that this metal pen could get lightly scratched if rubbing against other objects. No real damage done but suggest ensuing not carried in pocked with say keys or even consider getting a sleeve to protect (I'm using a single pen leather pouch and have no concern now keeping in pocked with other items or thrown into backpack). I'm finding that my writing has improved with this pen and whether using at work, home, coffee shop etc I am finding more joy in this basic activity which I find weird thing to admit. This could be true for fountain pens in general but certainly true for this pen - I have recently tried the Lamy Alt-Star, which is another great every day carry fountain pen which would also not hesitate to recommend, but in my opinion this pen just feels better put together which I guess is reflected in the higher price.

Bought as a replacement for a modern Parker (which was made after they forgot how to make decent pens). This is an excellent everyday pen - comfortable to hold, stays in the hand nicely and writes fluently - which is more than I can say for myself. Nice and weighty too, and with a decently secure clip. Ace.

The pen in a nice weight, but is rather large but not to big to use comfortably. It has a flexible nib and the medium nib (with no pressure) writes like a fine which is okay if you write with a little bit of pressure. For anyone which likes calligraphy or just line variation in their writing this is a suitable pen. One thing which i dont like about the pen is that it is quite a dry flow so you really need wet inks so i found waterman flowed well however lamy did not so it can limit you to some brands of ink but it isnt a major issue. Overall i love this pen for the money it is a good pen to have in a collection but i dont use it daily as there are better pens out there but i do recommend this pen if you already have fountain pens if not i would look for an easier pen to use.

Thought a lot about this purchase and I am delighted to say I made the correct choice. This is a wonderful pen I like everything about it, looks good, feels good in your hand the ink flow is perfect and all I can add is I was a bit hesitant at first as I prefer a fine nib and the product advertised medium nib only but on receipt I found to my great joy it writes like a fine nib much to my satisfaction. I have had Parker, Waterman pens previously but this pen surpasses them all, don't hesitate if your are thinking of buying one you wont regret it. definitely for the price its a 10 out of 10

I admit it now - I'm a fountain pen junkie and have spent many hundreds of pounds on expensive pens over the years. But this is, without a doubt one of the best pens I have ever bought. Lovely ink flow, great design..the cap seals air tight when closed - so no annoying drying up. It's a screw cap BTW...unusual for this price range. If you buy nothing else from Amazon this year do yourself a favour and buy this. One slight gripe is that it is easily scratched so best kept in a pouch.

Without wishing to sound like I need to get out more, I have a lot of fountain pens. Some may argue that this is the result of some sort of psychological sublimation of a repressed need, but, in fact, it is because I have always hoped that each one would be the one that "ticked all the boxes". Finally, I have found it, and the Invincia by Monteverde be its name. What have I been looking for? First, a good smooth writing pen - one that doesn't feel like that I'm bleeding ink through a medium nib, nor one that is medium to the point of parsimonious. One whose nib is not as soft as a strawberry jelly, nor as hard and scratching as a wire brush. I want a nib that looks like a proper fountain pen nib, not a nib that tries to masquerade as something exotic or esoteric, nor something that the designer gave up on half way through. I want a screw on cap, one that stays properly screwed on at the business end, yet sits happily on the other end without either popping off at the slightest change in hand position or scoring the body of the pen as it tries to hang on. I want it to fit my hand comfortably and be well balanced (it is weighty, but I like that). I want it to take universal ink cartridges, and not be so into itself (and the manufacturers ink sales) that it can only function with either a convertor or cartridges that are as hard to find as they are expensive. I want it to take two cartridges: one engaged, one spare. I want its style to embody its function. To the extent that, on seeing it, you just want to pick it up and get to know it better by running with it through a ream of paper or two, or three... then find yourself asking where the time went. I don't want gimmicks. I want a design and build that someone's thought about and loved. This pen is my idea of pen perfection. I was going to say for the price, but, to be honest, I think it so exudes quality as to make talk of cost somehow insulting. I have bought pens twice as expensive and liked them half as much. However, I have bought two Invincia: the Stealth and the Blue. I use the Blue day to day because the Stealth's awesomeness is just, ...is just, ... is just knee trembling. The pens I have that are in the same price bracket are the Shaeffer Prelude, the Parker Sonnet, the Waterman Expert, and the Cross Affinity (I also have slightly cheaper Lamys, Faber Castells, Parkers, Shaeffers, Watermans, and assorted others)... most of which will soon be on their way to good homes. The Cross Affinity and the Parker Sonnet would be my next best things: the Affinity is more Classy, but the Sonnet is more a very timid version of the Invincia. The others have their merits, don't get me wrong, but, for me, the Invincia just epitomizes the (modern) fountain pen. I was a little dubious about its name: I can't readily find a definition of the name anywhere: my guess is that its etymological breakdown is in- (negation of) -vincere (to win) -ia (plural), i.e., those who cannot be vanquished... which is maybe not that far from the mark.

Just received the Invincia Stealth in the mail and gave it its first test run. After a solid several minutes of testing it out, I've got to say that I couldn't really be any happier! The pen is beautiful. It has a good, solid heft to it and feels extremely well made. Solid metal construction, with that amazing oversized nib (one of the things that really sold me on this pen in the first place!). It's glossy, so it will pick up smudges or fingerprints, etc., and that jet black glossy look makes dust really stand out on it as well. Not a problem for me, personally. I've seen a lot of people (not just here on Amazon) talking about how the cap just will not post at all, but that definitely isn't the case for me. The pen posts perfectly, and even has an audible click when posting. Haven't had any trouble with it coming unposted or anything. The sheer weight of the pen is fantastic, but I could sort of see it resulting in fatigue in people that aren't open to such hefty pens. You could always leave it unposted too, but much of the heft is still there. Personally, I love it. Just make sure you're in the market for a pen that puts some weight on your hand when writing. Writing with the Invincia Stealth is fantastic. Do note though, that the medium nib is certainly more like a traditional fine nib. It isn't a super wet pen, but I have yet to encounter any skipping whatsoever. The nib is super smooth, although I have noticed that mine gets a bit scratchy when writing particularly fast, but it's not that unpleasant. Just an observation. I will probably end up ordering a stub nib for it, and maybe even a broad nib as well sometime in the future. The pen came with the converter seated inside, empty. It also includes a few ink cartridges (which are very small, mind you), but I made sure to pick up some Noodler's Bulletproof black ink as well. The two work wonderfully together. I only have two other fountain pens. One, a Lamy Safari, was a gift, and I've had nothing but problems out of it. The other is just some Sheaffer pen I picked up at Michael's for $6 (which, ironically, writes beautifully with its stub nib!). I just got a new job and decided to splurge on this pen, and I'm very glad I did! If you're looking for an amazing, sleek, extremely well-made fountain pen but don't want to spend a huge amount of money on it, I would strongly recommend the Invincia Stealth!

Pióro bardzo dobrze wykonane, solidne, jednak zbyt cienka sekcja uniemożliwiała mi komfortowe trzymanie, więc zmuszona byłam odesłać przedmiot. Przed zakupem obejrzałam porównania wielkości do innych znanych mi piór, parametry a na żywo okazało się, że jednak jest ta sekcja za wąska. Ps. Wszystkie pióra Monteverde, jakich używałam miały bardzo dobre stalówki (podobno to ruletka). Wszystkie pisały gładko, przepływ atramentu był bezproblemowy. tak więc samo pióro jest świetne, ale sekcja może być problemem przy uzywaniu.

Nice pen. Good quality of nib.

This is a wonderful pen, reliable, and always ready to go. It doesn't clog up easily. My only regret is that the nib is too broad. For those who have small writing such as myself, I don't recommend it. I'm going to have to go to my favorite pen store and see if they can replace the nib with a fine or medium point. Great balance and design. Good price.

Estou usando a Invincia há cerca de uma semana, e até agora tem sido uma experiência muito positiva. Com a ponta média da JoWo, as linhas são bastante espessas. A caneta é bem pesada, o que é do meu agrado. O acabamento é praticamente perfeito. A única reclamação que tenho é que os dois cartuchos inclusos chegaram estourados, como se pode ver nas fotografias. Felizmente, porém, a tinta não vazou para fora do invólucro que abrigava os cartuchos. A quem quiser adquirir este modelo, recomendo usar o conversor incluso para lavar a caneta com água antes de escrever pela primeira vez, pois do contrário a tinta não flui e a escrita resulta intermitente. Deixo também uma amostra de escrita com a caneta (usei a tinta azul da Pilot).
