Works perfectly & simple to use
I just purchased this product for our new pool. I've only used it about six times as it's early in the season, but so far so good. It's extremely simple to operate. It took me a couple of minutes to pair the robot with the app, but that's because the instructions don't make it clear which light should be blinking. It's a discreet light with a mobile wifi icon on the unit. That said, I haven't used the app to operate the robot since. The slide button on the device is all you really need to set the mode (floor only or floor+walls), and to start a cleaning session. A lot of spring debris has made its way into the pool over the past couple of weeks, and the Polaris Freedom makes quick work of it during it's 2.5 hour cleaning routine. It's quiet, and hardly noticeable. I've been putting it in as soon as I open the cover to get everything that's settled. Removing it from the pool is simple - either by hand or using the supplied hook. Simply let the water drain as you pull it up, and it's easy to carry around. I typically let it sit on the treads for a few minutes, and then upright for a few more to let it drip dry before putting it on the charger. The hood is transparent, allowing me to see directly into the filter cavity as it's running, which is nice. Removing the filter couldn't be simpler, and it's easy to clean with a hose. It's a fine filter too, capturing a thin layer of dirt/silt in addition to leaves due to all of the recent landscaping work around the pool. The charging base is super simple and has a little reflective window at the bottom so you can see the battery status light while it's charging. I thought I read something about the robot being able to map out the pool to optimize it's cleaning routine - but I haven't seen any evidence of that. It's pattern seems random to me - something I need to look into. All in all, very happy with this purchase. I'll update this review if I run into any issues.

Disappointing considering the name Polaris - Broke in under a year for $1400?
My Polaris wired cleaner was awesome, so I looked into a wireless robotic one. The big plus is it cleans the floor well and is easy to clean. It will grab a lot from a pool (floor only) that "looks" clean. Edit: After well under a year of LIGHT use, the cleaner falls to its back and just spins. Finding help on a weekend? Won't happen on their 800 number, google, nothing. The cons: Doesn't scrub the walls hardly at all, even the easy algae to brush it won't get. You will need to keep scrubbing your pool manually. WiFi doesn't work while underwater, but could if their app developers knew how (and it's easy to do). Polaris needs a reset every time I use the app before starting it. It's a nightmare to fish under the water. There is a lot of potential here, but this version didn't deliver for me, and is wasted potential. The Polaris name means something and I'm sure future versions will get it right. And if the manufacturer is reading this, you can contact me how to help make it better. I am still a fan despite this disappointment. I will just use it to do the floors, and "think" it does the walls, and scrub the walls by hand as I've always done. Kind of puts a heavy price tag on a floor cleaner when there are plenty of off brands that can do that for less money.

Works Great For Me - There's a reason Why!
I purchased the Freedom robot in May of 2023. It has 162 hours of run time with 61 battery charge cycles. I'm in Florida, where the heat and sun is unforgiving. It has performed well since day one and has never skipped a beat. Cable-free is great. I help several friends take care of their pools and a couple of them also have cleaning robots - corded and cordless. Their cleaners have had issues after relatively short periods of time - at around 12 to 18 months. I firmly believe it's because they don't protect it from the elements, or properly maintain it after use. I have a routine that I believe keeps my robot reliable. After every use, I immediately remove it from the pool, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water, tip it at several angles to drain the excess water, let it air dry in the shade, and store it on the charger in the house when not in use. Do not leave it in the pool or outside, especially in the sun. Pool chemicals and the sun dramatically shorten the robot's life and reliability. A couple points on the downside I can mention is the loss of communication with the app when the robot is submerged, and the amount of time required to recharge, but neither are a real issue for me, nor do they affect cleaning performance. Bottom line - remove and rinse after each use and keep it out of the elements when not in use. Try it!

Unit works very well for 35 x16 kidney shape 8.5 deep pool. Unit cleaned the pool but was spent at the end. Ie. one cleaning per charge. Doesn’t always surface for pickup in the shallow end but maybe I didn’t get to it in time..Only communicates when at the surface which is clearly indicated in the instructions. So when it says it’s done, you have about 10 minutes to retrieve or it sinks. But you have a supplied hook attachment for your pole to retrieve.

I guess it’s my ignorance but I assumed all Amazon purchases were covered by a 30 day full money return policy. But alas 30% restocking fee if opened applies. My review was it was a good little robot. Basket size was smaller than my old unit but it just didnt work that great with my sloped walls. Easy to charge with the magnetic charging makes it easy to take on and off charging unit. Being a fully electric battery unit you just have to master the art of fishing it out.

1 Charge did the Floors, Water Line and Walls of my 16 x 32 Inground Pool. 10' Deep End.... Slope was no problems. All debris in the basket. Did not do the steps.

Our Polaris 3510WD finally seized it’s motor block after 5 years. We chose another Polaris because of our history with the brand. My son’s in a wheelchair and he asked if we could lose the cord, so he didn’t have to maneuver around it. That led to exploring numerous offerings. I wasn’t comfortable with the cheaper offshore brands because of inconsistent reviews. We chose the Freedom model. Setting it up was simple. It only has a few cleaning options to chose. My first few cleanings weren’t very impressive. Our pool is a modified kidney with about 32 feet of length. On a whim I changed the program to floor only and I skipped the side walls. That worked the best. It follows its timer effectively and unfortunately parks itself in the deep end. That makes retrieving it a pain. It’s also not the fastest at charging needing over three hours for a full charge. The last complaint is that it has a small basket to catch debris with no fine filtration so it won’t catch particles. Overall I’m pleased with the Freedom and I can live with it’s shortcomings.
