LaSyL Super Absorbent Powder - 50/100/200 use, Solidify & Gel Urine in 1 Min, Deodorizer - Easy to Port Waste Liquid - for Camping Portable Toilet, Urinals, Bedside Commodes, Pet Potty etc

This is a review of LaSyl solidifying/ deodorizing powder which we intend to use in a portable commode while camping. As a test, I added about a teaspoon of powder to an estimated half cup of water that I had put into a plastic bag to test its effectiveness. I was surprised at how fast the water turned into a solid gel that I was able to pick up in my hand. As a second test, I poured a glass of pickle juice and added the powder to test for odor control. Again it absorbed all the liquid very quickly, and I could hardly detect any pickle smell at all. I am sure this will work for our needs while camping. It was very easy to use, and I would definitely purchase this again.

This works very well, but I wish it had a deodorizing smell! Do not put in your sink or toilet! I use in conjunction with the commode pads!

We were doing a day-camp trip. This was the first year I brought along a pop-up toilet and changing tent, a 5-gallon plastic bucket and a toilet seat that attached to the bucket. I bought both products off Amazon (anngrowy shower tent pop-up and 72HRS toilet seat). I didn't want to use the public toilets to change or do #1 or go into the ocean to pee, so I purchased this. I was doing some research on using either clumping kitty litter (too expensive, too heavy), or absorbent pads (too smelly), or pine shavings (takes up too much space). I saw a Youtuber using a capful of this product so I purchased this and I tested it out before taking it to the camping trip and it worked very well! I lined the 5-gallon bucket with thick plastic garbage bag, put a capful of this stuff inside, and placed the toilet seat cover over the bucket and tried it out for two days, no smell at all! Clean up is a breeze as it gels up the pee and all you do is tie up the garbage bag and throw it away. I am very happy that we purchased this, will use this at every camping trip!

I already use the LaSyL brand of crystal kitty litter and like it for my cats, so I decided to try their absorbent powder as well, for the dry-toilet in my camper van. Overall its a good product.It works as expected by turning the liquids into a gel. I had to use more than I expected, and it didn't absorb the smell right away, so I only gave it 4 stars. But overall its a good product and I will buy it again.

I was thrust into 24/7 caregiver for my mother and had to learn lots quick. The bedside commode liners are a must, and after several brands with the little pads, I discovered the gelling powder. It's magic. It's instant, just half a capful will take care of what used to be a sloshy bag. Nothing, just a blob of stuff, it's legal to dispose of in the waste pickup, and there's NO ODOR. I could try other brands, but why? As long as this is available and economical, I'm using it.

We used this and plastic bags in a bedside commode after my bilateral knee replacements. It worked quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend.

I am currently using Pee powder. I originally used Lasyl but ran out and tried the other brand, for a camping portable potty. LaSyl works so much better at gelling and controlling odor. I am going back to LaSyl. It is just so much more absorbent than Pee Powder.

This product does work, but it takes more than a cap full to do it.

This stuff works really well, light weight for disposing. Used it camping, 2 white kitchen garbage bags that fit on a 5 gallon bucket with toilet seat, no leaks, instantly gels. In the middle of a heatwave I would definitely take it out daily (I do anyways but know some who take it out every second day or so). I used 1-2 cap fulls, could add half a cap more if it’s used by more than one or two people I suppose. We went on 5 or 6 weekend camping trips, used only at night and I’d say I have more than half a bottle left. Will probably last us at least another summer of camping, if not more.

Does the job. About 3/4 bottle turned a garbage can of liquid waste into a gel that could be tied up in a bag and picked up by the city garbage truck. The grains are small - like a powder that turns liquid into a firm jelly texture, not beads.

Worked amazing! Excellent product! Couldn’t believe how fast it transformed.
