100% effective bird deterrent
We had our home's windows mirror tinted to help keep out the heat. Woodpeckers that would light on a small palm tree started pecking at their own reflections, repeatedly. Tried a fake owl...*fail*. Tied a few streamers of this scare ribbon to the tree and it worked wonders. The absolute cheapest, easiest, most effective way to keep birds away, long term. Forget the "fake predator" statues that work for about 5 minutes. A few streamers of this stuff and a breeze will keep every bird away.

Very Effective Bird Deterrent for Condo Railings
I live in a high‑rise condo right on the beach, so birds are a constant nuisance. We regularly get blackbirds, crows, and the occasional dove landing on our railings and doing their business all over the place. Over time we’ve tried just about everything—rubber snakes, a plastic owl, you name it—but none of those made much difference. After putting up this reflective bird‑scare tape, the change was immediate. It’s been very effective at keeping the birds away from the balcony. Every now and then a large, mature bird might still land, but it’s rare compared to before. For the most part, the tape really does its job. One thing to know: the tape does wear out after a few weeks in the sun and coastal weather, so you’ll want to replace it periodically. It also tends to adhere to the railing when there is moisture in the morning. Even with that, it’s absolutely worth it for the results. If you’re dealing with persistent birds around your balcony or railings, this tape is one of the few things that has actually worked for us.

What it says it is, but no effect on birds.
It is what it says it is...but don't think it had much effect on the birds. My trees look like they're decorated with Christmas icicles, but I still have those darned grackles. I wish I could figure out how to get these higher up into the trees. I tie a piece of yarn to the middle of a strip of this, then a rock on one end of the yarn and a stick on the other end and throw the whole thing as high into the tree as possible. The rock gives it momentum and the stick helps it catch on the branches. Trouble is, I can't throw but about 25' up and the tree is probablyy 50-60' where the grackles roost in the top.

Roll really really small
Don't know if it works yet but it was perceived to be a larger roll. If you buy this it the size of electrical tape. I messed up but they didn't advertise well. I thought it was 2 to 3 inches wide Luke duct tape roll. Again my fault for not reading fine print but advertising was deceptive.

This works!!
I have to say this works perfect I have a covered deck that every year I fight birds nesting on the top of my pillars. I would put soccer balls and tennis balls to try to block them from beating. They still found a way to beat. I hung a few strips over each column and not one bird even flies towards it!!! I can now enjoy the outside with no worries of nesting birds!

Sadly disappointed - my horse can't eat safely from his feed bucket
The first day of this tape was so good, but those darn birds figured it out. My old horse needs pelleted feed. The feed bucket rests on the fence (corral panel). The bucket isn't that big. But a pigeon or 2 will actually perch on it and try to eat from my horse's bucket. That is the worst thing that happens. I don't care that the birds are on the ground. Of course, they are searching for whatever my horse spills. The birds are stubborn. I have to stand there and throw rocks to keep them away. I had high hopes for the tape and it didn't work out - at least for smart pigeons. I have to try something else. No, I can't remove the food source.

It works well
Oddly enough, this really works. I wrapped the top of my balcony railing with it and have had no birds hanging around since.

Great tape for keeping ospreys away!
Tied just a few feet of tape to several spots on our balcony and it helped keep the birds away. They shiny texture does wear off in a few weeks, so you may have to replace. But they give you plenty of tape on a roll.
