Blackstar Debut 50, 2 Guitar Combo Amplifier, Cream (DEBUT50R)

I was looking for a small non-digital, solid-state 50 watt combo that wouldn't break my back taking it to and from practices and gigs. I happened to see a ad for the 50R, and it seemed to check all my boxes. After reading a few reviews, watching a few videos on the amp, and checking out the Blackstar website, I pulled the trigger and ordered one... When it came in, I immediately tried it out with several of my single-coil and HB guitars, and all I can say is WOW, this amp definitely performs well above what you pay for it!!! The amp seems built well, only weighs around 20 pounds, and has a very small footprint. I ordered the one with the cream tolex and wine grill. I decided to try another speaker in it (not that there was anything wrong with the stock speaker), so I installed a Celestion V-Type, which made it sound ever better!!! The reverb sounds good and I like the 5 watt setting. Definitely a great amp for the money...

I am a long time tube amp guy who is still gigging later in life. I wanted to try a solid state amp that would be lighter to carry around to gigs but still sound decent. The Blackstar Debut 50r has exceeded all of my expectations. It is simple to navigate, the tone is great, and it just rocks! I've played it with a Stratocaster, a Telecaster, and an Esquire - it cuts through just fine. I've even seen an Instagram video where Sammy Hagar is using one of these in a practice room while on tour. Players expect this to be a modelling amp. It is not. It is an analog setup based on the Blackstar tube amps. Two channels; one clean, one distortion. I am a classic rock type of player. I'm using just one pedal for some solo stuff, but mostly relying on the volume on the guitar for solos versus rhythm volume. It cleans up nice when I roll off the volume. I love this amp.

Just got this amp , sold by Sweetwater shiipped by Amazon in two days , very well packaged ! In three boxes this amp was not getting damaged in shipping ! So just tried it out for a few and am very happy with it thus far , the reverb is amazing and thank you Blackstar for putting reverb on this and it is a great reverb . The clean tones are good , the overdrive is good , it took to the pedal well , it has everything I wanted in a amp . My last amp was a huge 400 watt Fender 1989 model and that thing was a beast to carry around but truly amazing in its own right . I hope that Blackstar amplifiers are as long lived . This is my first Blackstar amplifier . Now hunting down a footswitch which has thus far not been found . Thanks Blackstar , Sweetwater and Amazon for this great offering . Update : Issue with the amplifier already , volume on clean channel does not work until you put it at about 4 and the volume on the clean channel is very low . There are cut out in sound , not good . First Blackstar amp likely the last one as well . This amp has been only tried out a few times as of having several amplifier models trying out at the same time , so it has not been used non stop or put through any hard paces .

I bought this amp when looking for something that could do anything I throw at it. The 50w/5w power selection switch makes this amp capable of both quiet bedroom and loud full band practice/gig settings which is quite nice. To only need one amp to do both is unheard of in this price range. The Blackstar ISF tone knob is a very versatile tool and helps players dial in their amp's tonal characteristics beyond traditional amps. I personally love the ISF knob rolled all the way to the right on the clean channel as this produces a chimey British sound reminiscent of a Vox amp. Blackstar set out to release this amp as one that is very simple, yet uncompromising in the tone department and absolutely accomplished that! There are enough features to run the amp as-is and generate excellent sounds, but adding pedals unlocks many more possibilities too. It is an incredibly responsive pedal platform. My only complaint is that the optional footswitch is sold separately from the factory. That is no big deal though as this amp was a home-run purchase! There is excellent reason why this amp is on backorder through most retailers. See for yourself!

Excellent sound quality, works very well. A little bigger than I had expected but pleasantly surprised. Beautiful appearance and craftsmanship. This amp is powerful & works very well with my foot pedal & guitars for incredible sound & effects.

I recently purchased this amp. Didnt really have time to mess with it until just today. After playing with the controls a bit I came to the conclusion that I was sent a defective unit. The EQ does not work correctly the Bass comes in very high even if I have it nearly at the zero position. The Mid does not do anything at all regardless of what it's set to. I tested this by turning down both the bass and treble bands an turning up the mid. No sound comes out of the amp what so ever from the mid band alone. If I do the same for the other bands I get sound, though the bass is completely out of balance. This is my first experience with BlackStar and honestly a very disappointing one. Now I have to find a service center and take it in for repairs and hope that it works out. Update: I took the amp to an authorized service center. They had it for about 3 weeks. I got it back and it was working normally for about 2 weeks. Now we are back to the same condition...over the top low band and a dead mid band on the EQ. This amp has sat in a room and has not see the road even once. Having to deal with a service center and not having the ability to get a direct deplanement on the warranty makes this a regrettable purchase. Blackstar/Korg quality is far below what I imagined. I'm close to calling it a loss and finding something else. It will certainly be the last time Blackstar/Korg get any money from me. A brand new product should not perform like this!

Super good and raw amp… takes pedals really well… natural sound with tons of gain with no break… Including this in my personal live rig

Es kommt ein sehr leichter Verstärker daher, der zudem noch sehr schön aussieht Gleich mal eine Gitarre angestöpselt. Der Clean Kanal klingt vielversprechend. Mit dem Bright Schalter klingen vor allem Humbucker-Gitarren viel brillanter. Der Overdrive Kanal deckt die klassische Gainskala ab. Bis auf Highhain. Da wollte ich gleich mal die Bodentreter und das Multieffekt ausprobieren. Die klassischen Bodentreter funktionieren wie erwartet. Das Multieffekt Klang am Instrumenteneingang dünn und harsch. Am fx-loop war das gain zu schwach und es kam kein Overdrive zu Stande. Wahrscheinlich Impedanz Probleme. Bei anderen Amps funktioniert es. Ganau deswegen, nämlich als Pedalbasis, hatte ich den Debut 50r geholt Er musste wieder Retoure Schade

La finition générale est soignée. Le son clair est proche de ce qu'offre les amplis Fender. Le bright ajoute du mordant, de l'attaque. L'ampli est puissant mais le commutateur 5watts permet une utilisation en appartement sans problème. La boucle d'effets intégrée derrière La reverbe est efficace grace au volume propre et propose soit un espace Plate soit Hall L'égalisation intégrè à la fois l'ISF propre à la marque et le contrôle en plus des graves et des aigus, des médiums ! Enfin, l'overdrive permet un son crunch, blues-rock mais pas au-delà. Et c'est là que cet ampli devient intéressant ! Avec un footswitch et une tube screamer ou une disto en façade vous pourrez avoir l'équivalent d' un ampli trois canaux ! L'overdrive est de très bonne qualité et le Mojo est présent pour repiquer du SRV ou du Hendrix ! Conclusion : le prix est hyper attractif et Blackstar frappe fort avec cette gamme qui conviendra aussi bien à la maison que dans des petites salles

Kesinlikle tavsiye ederim. digital modelleme yapan amfileri pek sevmiyorum. Clean kanal harika. ses bozulmuyor. pedal bağlamadan drive kanalı bile oldukça tatmin edici. çok güzel bir pedal platform da olur bu amfi.
