good book
This book is for really smart people. Me, not so much. It is over my head but I like to read things that challenge me to grow and expand my mind. It is not the regular party line. Very thought provoking.

What an amazing read!
I was curious of this book after seeing a short lecture from the 2024 cosmic summit conference and them referencing a YouTube doc by Jesse michaels (which i highly recommend to anyone interested in t.t.brown and gravity/electromagnetics). This book was such a great read I couldn't put it down. The author writes it in such a way, it immediately draws you down the rabbit hole. I give it a strong 9.3 out of 10.I also highly recommend his other book "the boy who invented television". Both books are fascinating and are written in a way were you're not thrown off with complex words, they're broken down so anyone can understand the subjects discussed.

Wonderfully written, oddly moving, and powerful
Somehow the author managed to cobble together hundreds of disparate pieces of info into a cohesive narrative that attempted to paint a picture of Townsend Brown.Written in a modern, novel-like manner, it stays interesting and weaves together the personal lives of Brown and his family over a narrative stretching decades. While fascinating, often I found myself confused at the many shifts in both sets of characters, and times. The author jumps around quite a bit, and while interesting it was also very confusing. This is not to say the author is without gifts. I found myself rereading many a sentence for the sheer pleasure of his turns of phrase and his effortless poetry. This book will stay with me for a long time, and I will look for his other books.Although not a fault if the author, the book never does get to the heart of what Brown actually accomplished. Perhaps it will never be known, and conjecture is all we can do, but it would have been nice to get the details of what Brown was really doing all those years. An excellent read. Congratulations to the author on writing a book that really defied being written.

Good but lots of fat
I can't imagine the level of effort the author put into this book which I really appreciate. However it's written in a way that really distracts from the main point of anti-gravity. Most of the book is just about Townsend Brown's life and ancillary relationships. The part that its difficult is that the book isn't in chronological order. There are 90 short chapters out of order which I find incredibly frustrating.

Great story about a mysterious scientist / inventor
I read the earlier version of thus book after which Mr Schatzkin gave up on the project because there were too many gaps in the information he could find. I was surprised and delighted when this updated version came out. It's a great read! Townsend Brown remains a mystery in many ways, but the story woven around him, mostly with information from his daughter and close associates is a good one. The part I liked the least was the way the author jumps around in time, mostly because I was trying to keep track of what developments might have happened at a particular time - I have an interest in gravity related research and inventions. Regardless, it is clear that T. Townsend Brown was a great man who made many significant contributions to the world. Whether we will ever get to know more about his most secret work is an unanswered question.

Love this book
Like a warm summer night wind blowing from the distant dark meadows and forests, teasing my campfire next to a bottomless abyss, I loved reading this book. Filled with little bits of intrigue, humor, romance, and lots of speculation, I sensed a long lost spirit of youthful wonder return as I turned the pages.
