BERGEON 6033 - Watchmakers Original Rodico One Touch Cleaner Stick - HR6033

Bergeon is the name in watchmaking and it's not a reputation that they haven't earned. Their tools are pretty fantastic. But expensive. Too expensive for most and especially for those just starting out and trying to find out if this is a hobby or career that they really want to get into. Not so with probably Bergeon's most useful tool. That would be this stuff. It moulds like silly putty, holds things, helps you to pick up something that went pinging off in whatever direction it chose this time and is really good if you become the lube monster and get oil and grease all over the place. Yes we've all done it and there is a fine art to lubricating a freshly cleaned and serviced time piece. I'm gonna guess that you are starting out as you are reading this review. Stick with it. I've ruined so many watches but you turn a corner and get better. If you do want to continue, this will be one of your favourite purchases.

I was hoping to use this to clean grease and debris out of the gap between my watch glass and the frame and unfortunately it's just not tacky enough to achieve this, but maybe I had the wrong expectations.

Un relojero ya de la vieja escuela me recomendó que usará rodico para la limpieza de la aguja, no pudo tener más razón... Si tienes una aguja relativamente nueva, no está de más usar rodico para limpiarla, yo puse un poco sobre una moneda, dejo que caiga y levanto la aguja unas 3 o 4 veces y eso es suficiente para limpiarla, no hace magia, está limpieza es específico para polvo, pelusa, piezas que se incrustan por estática y/o grasa, si la aguja ya es vieja y tiene incrustación, tiene que pasar por otro proceso, no te va a servir este método. Al terminar de usar la moneda, la envuelvo en papel encerado y la meto en una ziplock, debe durar, no se cuánto porque entiendo que queda duro con el tiempo, no importa porque tengo bastante.

Stuff is so handy to have around. A must for watch repair. A little goes a long way too. It's just pricey.

Don’t buy. I tried to clean my crystal with this fake product. Imagine if you put your thumb on a glas surface where you can see your fingerprint! This is how it look like. I think it’s fake and not a Bergeon product.
