It's razor sharp and for $140 ish I thought it was a good buy until I saw it elsewhere for half the price! You always should shop around before buying anything unfortunately I didn't see the other sellers deal until after the Return was to late ,it's still a great deal in a large sharp blade either way and it's perfectly built with a good sheath

I purchased this Tanto after Christmas 2023. I took some low price files from Harbor Freight and used them to file down the 4 catch points on the inside of the sheath. That was easy to do and the Tanto drew out of the sheath much easier. Also I used a basic kitchen knife block sharpening stick as you would a chef knife and added a sharper edge to the blade. I purchased this knife as a insurance policy, last option item should I need it when I go camping with my dog and othered in remote areas in nation forests and state forests. I never used it for anything but wear on any camping trips and maintained it very well. I’ve taken Aikido over the years and have nicer Tanto s. This Tanto does have a bigger cut if you measure from the top front tip to the bottom of the blade about mid point. You can use a L frame and ruler to measure it yourself. Also I put three in one oil in the nylon part of the sheath to avoid dry rot. I do check the side handle screws which you can use a star hex key should you need to tighten them down? Overall nice general carry Tanto in places where you don’t want to ruin the nicer Tanto s that Cold Steel sells. I purchased all three but this one is the one I always have on me when camping and hiking. I use other stuff for wood, and fish, skinning, should I need to. Easy to carry and wear Tanto.

Great Cold Steel Tanto. Very thick blade, extremely sharp, and a nice molded sheath. This knife can take lots of punishment. Years ago Cold Steel showed a video of them taking one of their Master Tanto knives and driving it through a car door several times with no edge damage, only scrapes on the sides of the blade. Pretty impressive.

This knife can take beating. I have thrown this knife hundreds of times and have only loosened the screws. I'm not recommending this, but rather offer it as a testament to the quality and strength. Cold Steel still makes some great knives on occasion and this is one of those times.

I am still very new to knives. But I can confirm this tanto from Cold Steel is super sharp and durable for my needs
