Tomkas Small Dog Sling Carrier - Classic Pocket & Classic Strap - Wrap Carrier - for 3-10 lbs Pets(Black)

This is one of those Amazon purchases where I don’t understand how it could cost so little. Just the fabric to make this would cost more than the cost of this sling. Even though the shoulder strap is not adjustable, I find that more comfortable across my shoulder. I am 5 foot 4, and Because I have a large belly right now, the area in which the dog lies is a little bit resting high on my belly instead of flat against my side. For that reason, obese or large bosomed people might find the strap short or feel it a little bit small, but the construction is excellent and the ability to move it to different parts of your upper body and across the back of your shoulders is manageable because the strap is wide and comfortable. The sling part itself is extremely well-made. The lining is smooth and the little toes and toenails can’t get caught on the totally smooth lining fabric because it cannot snag. That was an extremely thoughtful thing to do. I love that Somebody realized that they don’t want any little toes and toenails getting damaged or hurt because then the dogs will not want to sit in the carrier, and that they took the time to line this so beautifully so that the outside is soft, discreet cotton, and the inside is slippery and cool and safe. I thought the snaps were a nice touch, there are three plastic snaps that go across the top of the carrier to keep the dog safe inside, but there is enough room for the dog to poke their head out of one of the openings and still not fall out. The reason why these plastic snaps are so thoughtful is they make very little noise, unlike the Velcro that is used for many carriers, which is terrifyingly loud and scary for dogs to hear so close to their heads. The fact that the snaps are plastic may or may not make them more durable, I don’t know, but They certainly won’t rust when you wash it. And they don’t have any sharp edges. They make the carrier very easy to open and close. You can glance down and see your pet very easily even if they’re lying down at the bottom. I love that There is a phone pocket! You can’t even buy a phone carrier for this price. So in some ways you’re getting a phone carrier with a free dog carrier attached lol. The fabric is so soft, which is very important for me because I have a nerve condition and I cannot stand fabrics that itch or are artificial. This is a soft light gray cotton. It is not stretchy, which actually makes it sturdier and less likely to dig into your back or shoulder and more likely to sit properly. I washed it in cold water today and let it air dry, it dried very quickly and it did not shrink. It is very lightweight which is super important because I am elderly, and cannot carry any weight other than my dog. I love this dog carrier and I never feel like I love what I get from Amazon it’s either tolerable or I accept it or I just give it away. This surprised me and made me want to share. By the way, my dog is a two-year-old 5 1/2 pound Chihuahua. I got the small. I don’t know if I had gotten a larger size if the strap would’ve been longer. Perhaps only the carrying part would have been larger. Depending on your dog’s age and personality, that will determine how comfortable they are lying in the sling, but as soon as you start moving, whether or not you’re cleaning the kitchen , and you don’t want to leave them when they’re feeling sick, or they’re just a baby, or you just need the comfort of a warm animal against your body, this is definitely the carrier to get. I’ve wasted money on other things, this is a purchase I’m finally proud of. I hope it works for you too. This is my fourth dog carrier and the only one i am keeping. The others were too cumbersome, or the dog could not lie down at the bottom and sleep, or the angle was wrong, and they were all more expensive! Thank you to the company for thinking of all the details and making this so affordable. The only suggestion I would make for improvement is to not sew that care tag that all fabric items have into the bottom of the lining. It’s visually discreet because it’s on the inside however, it doesn’t feel soft. I wish that it had been sown elsewhere so that it has no contact with my animal’s body. And lastly, this carrier does not have that awful chemical smell that so many things have. It has no smell at all. I think this is gonna last the lifetime of my pet, and I hope that’s a very long time. Happy snuggly days ahead to us all! 🙂 UPDATE: I found that after washing this carrier, the tag inside was soft. No longer stiff. And I attached a video so you can see I took my guy whale watching with me and it was perfect. I forgot i had it on. I stood with him for 4 hours on the windy boat and he was fine the whole time inside. (Ok watch the video, maybe we won’t go again lol.)

I absolutely love this bag! It is perfect for girls and super comfortable to wear. It’s the perfect size to carry my puppy, and it works amazingly well for small Chihuahuas. My Chihuahua weighs about 8 pounds, and she fits comfortably with room to spare. There’s even enough space in the back to fit her little puppy too, which I was so happy about. The bag feels secure, well-made, and supportive, so I feel confident carrying my dogs in it. It also has a strap so the dog doesn’t try to get out and it attaches to her collar. It comes with two buttons to secure the dogs better. It’s easy to wear, hands-free, and my dogs seem very comfortable inside. I’ve already gotten compliments on it, and I would 100% recommend this carrier to anyone with small dogs. I also have room to put my phone in the pocket which is convenient. Such a great purchase totally worth it!

This carrier has been a big success with my 9 pound miniature pincher. He doesn’t like to be separated from me and gets nervous in other carriers. It’s easy for me to slide him into this sling and keep him close to my chest. He feels very secure and relaxed. I don’t worry about him falling out of the deep pocket. The fabric is soft and durable and it’s comfortable on my shoulder. This is the first time a carrier has worked out for us and I’m going to order a second carrier to keep in my car.

This is perfect for my needs for carrying and containing my Chihuahua Buttercup. She seems to feel comfortable and comforted inside. It has all the required bells and whistles for keeping her secure - the deep opening with the snaps at the opening and the ability to secure it onto her collar. I don't think you can ask for more for this price point. I wasn't willing to pay a lot because we'll not use it often and I wasn't sure she'd like it. When a storm came and I put her in it, she loved it and likes being in it while I work from home on my computer. The interior fabric is super cute! If I upgrade to another it will include a means to shorten the shoulder strap a bit, and in a fabric that is not quite so itchy to my sensitive skin. It is like sweatshirt fabric but my skin is super sensitive. When wearing a blouse rather than tank tops that won't be a problem anyway.

This is not my favorite because it’s not adjustable. But I have to say it is very comfortable. The material soft and the dog likes it. The dog is just very low when she’s in there and that’s not so comfortable for me. It is easy to just put it around your shoulder and put the dog in it. The color is perfect. I got the black. She fit in it very well at 3 pounds with plenty of room to spare, but not feeling like she was not safe either. She was very secure in it. I just needed to get one with adjust.

It’s a nice item , quality is good , can’t say how it will be after wash but having just received this our little four pound poodle loves it. She is cradled in the pouch and feels safe. I love the hook to strap her harness for extra safety. I got medium even though she would have been find in small. It’s nice and roomy. I recommend this item.

Prefect and exactly as describe. Comfortable and easy to use and good material . It’s worth the what I paid for.

Perfect little sling for my chihuahua when she gets tired on trails. She’s able to take breaks, watch the scenery as we hike, and get some relief for her tiny feet. Diva approved, mom happy! It can get warm on hot days, so just be mindful of your pup overheating.

A little big for my 11 lb Morkie, he ends up pretty much standing in it but it’s great to use. When we start to pack up to head to trailer and are loading the car, he starts to panic that we’re going to leave him so would always whine and run around barking so I bought this to put him in and carry him around while packing up. Works fantastic. He gets to be close to me and just watches while we load up! So glad i bought this. Wish I had of gotten it sooner!

Well made and pup loves it. He is only 4 lbs so probably won’t fit him too much longer. Works great when I am sitting at work and need both hands. Just wish it had adjustable straps so I could make it a wee bit longer when walking.

I work from home and am at my computer throughout my shift. Angel, my little Biewer dog, likes to be close at some point in the day. I used to put a blanket or towel on my desk for her to lie on, but it was in the way of my keyboard. I searched for a practical yet comfy bag she could be in, that can also hang around my neck. This is perfect! She gets very cozy in the soft pouch and has even fallen asleep. This is well-made and a very good choice - Angel approved!

3 star only because it doesn’t adjust and doesn’t fit across my chest. But the quality and material are great!
