Overall opinion: I really love it. Works really nice on my hair and leaves my hair fresh, soft and smelling AMAZING! i will not recommend using this shampoo without A conditioner as it left my hair feeling weird to the touch ( just in shower and as it drys but not after it dry) but all in all i love these and i keep buying them again and again! I also buy/recommend it to family and friends The shampoo: My hair and scalp feels clean, its not drying to the hair but theres a strange feeling after i wash my hair like tacky feeling, but i follow up with the conditioner ( desert essence coconut conditioner) and the hair feels is perfect, retains a nicely soft coconut smell.. The conditioner: Texture is nice and creamy. It smells nice! Leaves my hair with a pleasant coconut smell thats not overwhelming the whole universe,its just me softly smelling it when i move or brush my hair or intentionally smelling it,, i love how it made my hair softer to the touch and less frizzy, it feels moisturized from the inside not the out side,note that i used the desert essence coconut shampoo with it.. i noticed this after only 2 uses

I DO NOT WRITE REVIEWS, buuut this product blew my mind! I love how transparent they are with their ingredients. I am consistently trying to get rid of toxic products from my life that our government continues to allow use of. Although, the only questionable ingredient here is "fragrance", this was the cleanest, Non-toxic shampoo I could I find! I have pretty long hair and a little goes a LONG WAY! I have very dry thick hair and it keeps my hair super soft and moisturized for days! I know it's gross but I don't like to wash my hair frequently as to not disrupt my natural micro biom and my hair is still soft!! WTH?! I'm not even joking. I washed my hair 4 days ago and my hair is STILL incredibly soft. The scent is mild, and I personally prefer very aromatic scents but it's good enough. Even the plastic container is safe (plastic #5 polypropylene) and its recycleable!! I really hope they continue to stay environmentally friendly with transparent and safe ingredients! As long as they do that I will buy their products until I die!

This is my favorite brand of shampoo and conditioner and by far my favorite scent. The coconut is so subtle but nice smelling. Both products work well on my hair and I am happy with the purchase.

First off the shampoo smells AMAZING! Like 80’s coconut scented suntan lotion so it’s a little bit of nostalgia every time I use it. Lathers well and rinses fairly quickly. That being said, I’m not a fan of the conditioner. It smells like I’m putting vanilla frosting on my head. Not much coconut smell there. Rinses well but does not leave a soft I-just-used-a-ton-of-conditioner feel. It’s lightweight so it doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy which is a plus. I’d totally recommend the shampoo if for nothing more than the scent but the conditioner just doesn’t do it for me.

I did not like these products at first. In fact, I was almost finished with the first tube before I realized what it was doing for my hair. Okay, so, it really does smell like suntan lotion, which I'm not crazy about. And, a little does not go a long way. However, it's not poorly priced for what it does. When I finished these tubes, I realized that my hair just didn't feel like it had been feeling. When I was using this, it was silky, almost heavy-healthy like (if that makes sense) and had a wonderful swing and shine to it. I've not found anything else that makes it feel like this. I suspect it may be more due to the conditioner than the shampoo but I'm not taking a chance on using one without the other. In short, it really is good stuff, despite the smell. I'll buy again!

I used Prose custom blended products for years for my curly/wavy hair until I got tired of paying for the expensive subscription. I researched online for a more reasonably priced product line and saw consistently good reviews about Desert Essence. I’ve been using it for months now (repurchased multiple times) and it’s great. My hair is strong, thick, and shiny and my curls are bouncy. Plus, the light coconut scent is lovely.

I've been using Desert Essence for years, and while I like all of the scents/formulations, coconut is just different. You need a tiny, tiny bit to do a whole head of long hair (as opposed to apple, lemon and raspberry that need a normal amount) a little coconut goes a loooong way! It is also the best shampoo/conditioner I've found to reduce frizz - I also need gel, but I see a noticable difference between coconut Desert Essence and every other combo, including other DE formulas. This is my favorite combo in all the land!

I bought this item hoping to get something animal cruelty-free that hopefully wouldn't set off my allergies, as I'm super sensitive to an ingredient in heavily perfumed shampoos, conditioners, body washes, etc. This came in and had a couple sharpie markings on the back of each container which I thought was weird, but the product itself had a seal to keep it safe and as long as the material inside wasn't contaminated or anything, a bit of sharpie on the bottle really doesn't make a difference to me. This stuff is amazing. It smelled fantastic, I wasn't even aware of how much I liked the smell of coconut until I used this product because it smelled THAT GOOD. My hair came out silky smooth, and it's even nicer knowing that my hair can smell, look, and feel this great without testing on animals or upsetting my sensitive skin.
