Fish tank filter material
Just what I needed! Cut it down to filter size for pump in the Bird baths. Also cut 1 sheet of filter material in half and hot glued ends together to form a circle around the pump so the pump filter needs cleaning less. And even cut new filters high so they stick up out of the filter pocket which makes it easier to pull the filter out when changing is needed.

Arrive vacuum sealed and flat, need time to expand
It’s odd that these arrive totally flat in a vacuum sealed bag… you have to wait a few days for them to expand to normal size after opening. Alternatively, you could soak them in warm water and then put them in the dryer to expand. I’ve never seen filter foam/sponges packaged this way so it took me off guard. I’m using these to build up some height under my substrate in the back of my aquascape, and for that they work very well

Good coarse pads.
Very good filter pads, nice and thick, I didn't even have to put them in the dryer. Nice and coarse as well, can see my hand through them.

Easy to use
I followed the instructions on how to let it expand after arriving vacuum packed. Was easy to cut to size using both scissors and/or a boxcutter knife and served it purpose as needed. I did NOT notice any cloudiness or odor introduced to the tank from this item so if I ever need more sponge Alegi has my support.

Read the direction before using
Read the directions before using this sponge you are supposed to soak it before using it...which of course I did not do. I used it in my back filter and my canster filter as well as cut it to use as a prefilter works great and when cleaning I just ring it in some used tank water. Came with like 6 or 5 sheets and I've only used 2 sheets

May have caused nitrates
This is the newest thing I have introduced to my fishtank and suddenly my nitrate and nitrite levels are high. I followed all the instructions but I put them in my clean tank filter and the water quality changed. Going to order a previous brand and see if I still have that issue.
