Why does this item say Rayware mason cash?

No idea ' be careful we have now had to return two of these because they have arrived damaged. We believe that there is a bad batch of these items

Mason Case have not manufactured in the UK for many many years. These bowls are now made in Portugal.

Is this safe to use in a very cool oven?

Yes, provided you don't use direct heat / grill. I use mine to prove bread and make steamed puddings.
