This item is great. It appears to be sealed on the sides and layered in the middle. I have a heated foam cutter coming and will update on the out come! If your looking for a 5S Pack-Out System this is the best option.

It's working for tools. Good foam.

These are not very easy to use, each layer of foam is glued completely to each successive layer instead of just being glued around edges and intermittently throughout. So instead of peeling layers of foam after cutting your outline as the product pictures show, you’re gouging out foam hoping to have a semi neat hole.

So I really do like this. I used my little diode laser and an app called ToolKaiser on Android to lay out my tools and cut the foam. The laser cut the foam very nicely, made the whole job super easy. The foam cut vertically very well, and it's a nice stiff foam, the top is a bit glossy, easy to clean and wipe dust and grease off of. The foam doesn't tear easily, and my tools haven't damaged it at all. The only issue I had, was that the layers of foam didn't separate easily. So once I had my pattern cut, it was a bit difficult clearing out the space for the tool to actually sit. The precut exterior dimensions did fit my milwaukee packout drawers perfectly though, so that was very convenient. If you like having your tools nicely organized, I definitely recommend this.

Good foam that keeps tools from banging up on each other and keeps things more organized. Didn't realize how these inserts can make a big difference! Good price also.

I used this for storing vehicle diagnostic equipment in a hard, protective box. Just cut out notches and it holds everything securely. Easy to work with

It’s decent tool foam and fits nicely, but it’s definitely pricey for what it is. It did save me the time of having to trim the foam to fit, which was a plus.

While this product is intended to protect tools, it's also a great option for protecting electronic gear such as projetors, mixing boards and accessories.It does require custom cutting to hold contents in place, but the multiple layers make this easier than expected. What results is a really solid option for protecting treasured items.
