Kizer Bugai: The Knife with a Name You Can’t Pronounce but Will Love Anyway
Let’s get this out of the way—“Bugai” sounds like the name of either a legendary warrior or a fancy French pastry. Either way, who cares? Because this knife means business. The 154CM steel blade is razor-sharp, tough, and holds an edge like a debt collector who doesn’t forget. Whether you’re slicing, dicing, or showing off your superior EDC taste, this blade delivers. The green Micarta handle? Grippy, lightweight, and smooth, it fits like a handshake from a guy who knows what he’s doing. And the thumb hole opener? Fast, reliable, and fidget-friendly, though if you have giant hands, you might need a little finesse to get it right every time.Closing action? Smooth as a good whiskey pour. It’s a no-fuss, no-nonsense EDC knife that disappears in your pocket but always feels ready for action.Final Verdict:The Kizer Bugai is sharp, tough, and classy—even if you have to mumble the name when someone asks. 9.5/10—because performance matters more than pronunciation.

Fantastic value and an awesome EDC knife!
Love the design, the size, the look, the feel, the materials. It's smooth and razor sharp. Not much to complain about given the price. The action could be a little easier... If you use the wrong angle it won't deploy...and I did have to tighten the pivot screw a little. But I'm still giving it a 5 star because this knife deserves better than the current rating.

Great product poor packaging
I have purchased other Kizer knives in the past and never had one complaint but this time the packaging left a lot to say. The box looked like somebody had opened and returned it. Thankfully the knife was for me this timeand not for a gift.Somebody is slacking on quality control guys, get it together!

Excellent EDC
Loved this knife so much I got them all. The action is very smooth and it's fidgety, too. Thumb flick, spidey flick, slow roll, etc. There's multiple deployment options and the blade comes super-sharp. Very useful blade shape and it's just the right length to be useful but not freak people out when you take it out of your pocket. The jimping on the 154CN version isn't as grippy as the 3V but it's still alright. The pocket clip is "meh" and I'd replace it with a titanium clip from Kizer. The Micarta is great quality. Hand ergo is solid. It's just a great knife.Buy it.

Two knives, Two quality issues.
On the first knife, the blade was extremely hard to deploy and very off-center. I wanted a replacement. The replacement wouldn’t even stay shut. If I angled the knife blade down, it would deploy. The lock did not work half of the time. The lock up was MAYBE 10%. I could close the knife like a double detent slip joint. I’m aggravated because I liked this knife design a lot.

Mixed
4/5 Because I do like the knife and will be keeping it.I really like the overall look, especially the blade geometry. This is my first time buying a knife with micarta handle scales, the texture is very interesting, it does feel somewhat like cardboard. Out of the box mine came very sharp, but not razor sharp. Packaging was nice, came with extra handle scale screws, a sticker, pamphlet, and a micro fiber cloth.-1 star because my knife doesn't seem to open up properly. If I don't give it enough force the liner lock won't engage. There is a first click before a second click when the lock engages. Not sure if I just need to break it in to eliminate this issue. Also the belt clip is flimsy and bent on me first day, I've been having this issue on all recent knives I've been purchasing, even ones in the ~$200 range. Not an issue for me as I prefer to take off most clips as handling knives are more comfortable without them.Edit: Broke in the action, there is still two clicks before the liner lock engages, looks like from the half ball on the lock part that is giving resistance and making the first click. I'm not sure if this is a feature for this type of knife, my other ones are flippers which don't do this, and a handful of buck knives which are frame lock which also don't make two clicks. For the $69 I paid I feel this is a solid pocket knife and well worth the price. The handle scales (I got the green micarta) feel really awesome in the hand, and holds its grip even when moist as it seems to absorb moisture. Cool, but not sure how I feel about my sweat being sucked up into the handle...Good EDC knife, very lightweight and slim (without the belt clip). Wouldn't buy this exact knife again, but if they made one with thumb stud/flipper I'd buy one of those.

Returned for unsafe lock
I see a few reviews with the same thoughts I have about the knife. It’s a great looking knife, but it is not safe. Lock does not always engage. Finger flicking the knife open does not always engage the lock. The only safe way to open the knife is with two hands like a slip joint or lock back. Problem is I don’t think most people will be buying this knife to use like a slip joint. Hopefully later models fix this but I just bought this knife two weeks ago and the problem still exists.
