Perfect replacement and easy to fit too.
2 out of 3 reclining actions on our sofa/armchairs had broken years ago and I hadn't bothered to investigate. However a youtube video prompted me to have a look, as it indicated that often the 'dog leg' fitting on the end of the release cable comes out of its hole..a simple fix to just reinsert it. I was dubious that this was the fault with my mechanisms, given that the release handles on the broken units just flopped backwards and forwards. Nevertheless I gained access to the recliner mechanism (in my case I reached through between closed footrest and cushion squab to reach the release bar and pulled on it to open the recliner) and found the 'dog leg' was still in place. I therefore decided to investigate at the handle end by unscrewing the two screws that hold the handle housing into the wooden frame. On releasing the handle mechanism it was clear that the small metal 'drum' that is attached to the cable end had sheared off, and thus there was no link between cable and handle. The repair therefore needed a new cable mechanism. I found these on Amazon and followed the sellers measuring instructions to establish the right one to buy. Delivery was very fast and the item was as described and good quality. HINT - before replacing the cable I tied a length of string to the broken (handle) end of the cable BEFORE pulling the broken cable out through the recliner mechanism. In my case it would be near impossible to feed the new cable through from the inside (or for that matter the outside) so once the old cable was out I undid the string and attached it to the end of the new cable and, by gently pulling on the string and pushing the new cable up, I managed to easily get the end of the new cable out into the handle mechanism hole. Connect metal 'drum' on cable end to slot in handle, press the cable retaining collar into the slot on the handle housing and push the housing back into its hole. Don't put the screws back in until you have tested the operation of the new cable. Connect the 'dog leg' into the same hole the previous cable used and snap in the black plastic retaining clip to the hole that the old one was in. Close the recliner and test to see if the new cable will release it ok. If needed the cable throw can be altered using the adjuster on the handle end of the cable (just like those on bicycle brake cables etc.) and then when its good, replace the screws holding the handle housing in place. An easy job and a good product. Recommended.

Not much that can be said about a cable. It was simple to fit and does just what it was designed to do.
