It’s a great concept but it literally stays in one spot and spins. I bought this in the hope that it would help with my sauces while I attended to other food prep. It does not move around the pan. It stays in one place so I still have to move it or shake the pan. Not worth it.

I decided to use for a quick soup and stew and it helped me get what I wanted… controls and speeds are nicely done and it’s in your hands how you use it..effectively.

The device works via vibration. In very loose liquids, this will cause it to "stir". But it doesn't move around the pan effectively, and mostly stays in one spot.Most times when cooking a liquid on the stove, you're trying to thicken it. Once it gets to a certain thickness, the vibration no longer works well enough and it stops moving around altogether, effectively making it useless.

I received as a gift, and was somewhat skeptical, but I used an old Revereware pan and it did a great job on the pudding. I was doing something else in the kitchen, but as soon as I heard it slow down a bit, I checked, and the pudding was slowly boiling and done. I was pretty amazed that it worked this well! Suspect it will be problematic with thick foods like risotto, but for this it was great!
