GHD Black MK4 Compatible Power Cable and Connector – UK Plug

Bought this to fix a faulty set of MK4 type 2 straighteners which was buzzing and crackling when you used them.I used google to to check whether our model was type 1 or type 2 , there are also images to help you identify what the components are.Fitting was quite straightforward with the hardest part being undoing some if the smaller screws which were very tight.Only reason it is 4 stars rather than 5 is because the internal cables were about 1.5cm longer than the original ones so they had to be bundled inside the case and could easily be trapped when screwing the cover back on.Overall in really pleased with this simple fix, but care needs to be taken when replacing the cover because of the longer cables.

First of all, double check if you got the right cable as there are differences with the kind of pins. Ordered this one of a MK4, but the pin did not match. Lucky enough was another female-plug included and could I switch that over, but that will cost some extra time and effort.But after the whole change over can I confirm it works fine and does it's job, as to my partner.Update: after 2 months started the cord bring twisted (cheap materials used for the black plastic) till it now 3 months after buying it started breaking.

Had to change lead and connector as lead didn't fit existing connector. It was straight forward as I youtube'd instructions. I was going to record a youtube video and add it here to help others but there's already plenty out there and wanted to save myself the embarrassment of the frustrating fiddly process being captured for eternity 😂 as the hardest part was getting the very very tight screws off. Altogether though the wife is please as saved an extra £90 for a new pair!I have given 5 stars as I can't fault anything at the moment; touch wood! If anything changes I will update this review.

Bought to repair my straighteners. Easy to fit, and my old straighteners now work as new. As long as you check that you are ordering the correct model part, you can't go wrong. Have yet to see how long they will work for, but at a fraction of the price of new GHDs, it's well worth repairing.

Was not impressed with the product. Not the same tight snug fit as the original GHD lead that I removed so would not recommend the product based on my experience. The lead fitted and was operational but due to the lead not being tight and snug the straighteners intermittently turn on and off if cable twists during use.

This was fine to begin with but gave up after a while. Has to throw the GHD away altogether as it stopped getting hot.

Bought this in April 17 and it worked fine but I thought it had gone again, so posted a negative review. However it turns out it was the receiving component rather than the lead so eating my words! The lead seems to be working fine now.
