My laptop has a difficulty to work with its built-in Wi-Fi adapter when it is in the basement, far away from the router. Since I installed this wifi adapter, and disabled the built-in one, I have been able to watch online movies, surfed webs quickly without any problem.This wifi adapter works perfectly as advertised. It has increased 10x the download speed, and max out the upload speed.

I have a laptop that only has 2.4 ghz wireless built in, wanted to go 5 ghz, this little product fixed that without having to upgrade the computer. You simply plug it into a usb port (a 3.0 is best but works with 2.0) then go to your network settings, add the 5.0 ghz network and you are all set. That easy! please note you do have to have a router that has both 2.4 and 5.0 capability. you can plug it right into your pc or get an extension cable (sold separate) if you want it out of the way. it's easy to swap from one computer to another or simply buy 2 or 3 etc b/c the price was only $25 total.also you can simply switch from 2.4 to 5.0 with the click of your mouse and use both signals at once. I use the 5.0 for gaming to stream my xbox one to pc, and the 2.4 for regular web browsing. Have not had any issues so far, great product. 5 stars!!!!

I'm in the tech business, so I can attest that this is a great little wireless dongle! I especially love the antenna that screws onto the back, as this will work for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands. And it's also USB 3.0, so you're getting the highest speeds around for everything. Installation was a breeze--just pop in the installation CD, run setup, and plug in the dongle! I bought this as a backup solution (and the Lightning Deal didn't hurt either!) just in case the wireless card in my newly purchased, used desktop computer didn't work. Sure enough, it didn't, and this wireless dongle really saved my bacon! My router is located at the other end of my house, so wireless is my only solution for now. Once I determined my internal wireless card was bad, I installed this dongle and I was surfing the internet in no time at all! And I also had a consistent, stable connection of 4/5 bars on my wireless signal. Great product and would highly recommend!

Stop listening to what the other people are saying (including the seller). I use Ubuntu 18.04 and I've gotten it work pretty easily and so have people using other distros. Just do a search for "rtl8812bu linux driver" and download the driver from github. Follow the steps on compiling the driver (there's an ubuntu forum thread somewhere for it too)Buy it if you're using linux, it works.

I gave it four stars. I have windows 8.1, and the software does not play well with the windows wireless manager (in the lower right startup.) If you start to have problems with the USB WIFI device, go ahead and shut down the software that came with it. Someone said the Windows WIFI program was the problem. I found the opposite to be true. Install the drivers, but then use the Windows WIFI internal program. One of our laptops would not connect to the wifi anymore. It said it had no adapter and would not let me turn the wif i on. I searched the web and someone recommended this doggle. I got it from Amazon in 2 days. I put the disk in and followed directions easily. It found WiFi network and connected. I usually have 75mbps max With this i have 144.5mbps consistently. Faster browsing and so far no buffering on videos movies . Loved it so much I installed it on the other laptop with same results. I will be ordering another soon.

Much better product then the other two I bought previously that you are able to physically connect to your Wi-Fi. Not just an automatic plug in very easy to use great reception in our Old Log Cabin Farmhouse that sometimes we call it Fort Knox because you can get a Wi-Fi signal through the logs great product would purchase again if I needed to I'm thinking this one will last quite a while thank you

I tested the speed and it was close or exceeded the speed announced. It was consistent and steady. Love that thing!

Works as advertised. Speeds are decent even though my router is downstairs and the computer is upstairs (getting 3-4 bars of connectivity strengh). Simple and affordable product. The only issue was finding the driver to install online. The mini-disc that came with the adapter was useless for me. Windows gave me errors connecting to the Wi-Fi but once you uninstall the Realtek program (not the driver), Windows was able to connect me to the network without any issues. I am using Windows 7.
