Really Good Quality Rice
I’ve been using this 10 kg bag of Daawat Extra Long Basmati for a few weeks now and I’m impressed. The grains are nice and long, and once cooked they stay fluffy and separate, which makes a big difference for biryani or pilau. The aroma is lovely too that classic basmati fragrance without being overpowering. A couple of small things to note: you do need to rinse and soak it properly, otherwise it can turn a bit soft on the ends while still firm in the middle. My bag also had a few broken grains, nothing major but worth mentioning. Because it’s such a big bag, I’d definitely recommend transferring it into an airtight container after opening to keep it fresh. Overall though, it cooks beautifully, tastes great, and is good value for the size. I’ll happily buy it again.

Not any better than long grain Basmati. Expensive.

Not good quality
The rice has a weird yellow colour and is not white when cooked it is also slightly hard when cooked for the same amount of time I cook other basmati rice. I will not buy this brand again. It’s a waste of my money.

Basmati rice
We brought this to try and we liked it. It better value as other brands like tilda have become more expensive so this is the next best thing. Much better prices too.

The quality has declined noticeably
The rice looks different ie a little dark compared to marble white before. It doesn't grow in volume after boiling and i had to increase the quantity to feed a small family. After cooking, the rice feels soggy at the bottom meaning the difference in quality is also affecting the water-rice ratio. Disappointed with the decline in quality. Daawat was always a family favourite...but no more
