Features: Perfect for starting an indoor vegetable garden. The Warmhoming Seedling Heat Mat increases growing success by warming plant roots and maintaining a controlled temperature all season long. With the ability to warm 10-20°F over ambient temperature, this heat mat will work even in drafty places. Instructions: 1. Locate a flat, dry surface of the appropriate size for your heat mat. 2. Avoid cold surfaces, and they will counteract the heating ability of the heat mat. 3. Plug the heat mat's electrical cord into a standard 110-volt outlet. 4. Place a propagation tray or other plant container on the heat mat. For best results, cover seedlings/cuttings with a humidity dome. Needs an on/off switch
This seems to work well. It heats up quickly and cools down quickly. It’s safe to touch even when it’s heated up so that’s good since I have small kids and pets. My one complaint is that there is no on/off switch so I have to plug it in each day and unplug it each afternoon, which is annoying since the outlet is behind a table. I’ve snagged my Christmas tree extension cord that has the button you step on to turn it on and attached it to the cord of this mat and that has made it much better. So if they could just add an on/off switch to it then I would give it 5 stars for sure!

Keep Your Seeds Warm
I bought these mats this year as I started all my plants from seeds. The weather here in Maryland wasn't warming up and temps for March and April were still in the 40s. So I needed something to keep my seedlings warm while getting them to start up.These mats are OUTSTANDING! Got my seeds off to a great start and kept them warm while temps dropped into the 30s overnight. We don't have heat in our small greenhouse so these mats worked brilliantly!For anyone wanting to get a jump start on your summer plants while keeping them warm in the early Spring temperatures, these are what you want!

Gets VERY HOT if used without a thermostat.
The heat pad is advertised as only getting 10~20 degrees F warmer than room temperature. My room temp is 77, I plugged it in and laid it under my sterilite tub, and the temp on the hottest points got to 110 F in less than 5 minutes!Kind of paranoid of it burning down my house without a thermostat...

Seedling heat mat
I ordered this heat mat for my Plumerias that need to stay warm during the winter. It's big enough to hold two pots of Plumerias. I like that it keeps them warm enough without overheating. If I grow more Plumerias next year, I will need to order another one of this heat mats.
